I said C. I'm sure it will do fine here in the states, but I'm also sure that the PS3 version will sell better.

How much do you think FFXIII X360 will sell?
I'm going C. But the PS3 version will have more total sales. In the US however i think the 360 will be on par with the PS3 version. I do think it will be Europe that is the decider and they will go PS3 (Sony's biggest market and Final Fantasy has always sold well over here)
Anyone have any idea how much FF XII sold?
Based on history of games selling better on 360 over PS3 (at least as far as numbers from NPD are concerned) I'm tempted to say it will sell better for the 360. But, since there are a large percentage of PS3 fanboys who aren't aware that FF games existed outside of Sony consoles and seem to believe that a FF game on an outsider console is akin to shitting on a crucifix, I'm tempted to pick Sony.
Ultimately, we'll just have to wait and see
I'm thinking the ps3 version will outsell it at least 3 to 1. Even though its multi-platform it still feels like a sony game Imo, and the fact that its on one blu ray disk instead of a bajillion dvds will factor into the sales as well. I own both console and will definitely be getting it on my ps3, and I think that thats the case with almost everyone in that situation.
To be honest, I don't think it's going to sell all that well here in the states (good, but not Final Fantasy good) for a variety of reasons, but I expect the PS3 and Xbox versions to do about the same with a slight edge to PS3 due to it being considered a PlayStation franchise these days.

"Three DVDs, and I sincerely doubt the amount of discs the game comes on will be a deciding factor for anyone with both systems.
I don't think it'll necessarily break 1 million on either PS3 or 360 individually in the US. Maybe ~1.8 million tops on both systems combined in the US. That's my prediction. About par for the FF series, it'll be offset negatively by the current fanbase/gamer climate and positively by the amount of time in development, how good the game is going to look, and current marketing abilities.
Assuming the 360 version is about on par with the PS3 version, I guess about ~1.5m, with similar PS3 numbers (excluding sales from the Asia launch). I would have guessed more, but the response from Western gamers that have played doesn't seem all that positive.
I don't think Bad Company 2 (assuming that's what you meant) is going to impact it too badly. People might decide not to buy it in favour of DA: Awakening the week after though.
I think a whole lot of people - more than usual - are still on the fence about it, just waiting to see what the reviewers over here make of it. I could see the sales going real bad if Western reviewers are less than crazy about it.
I think it will sell better globally on the PS3 than 360 because of the Japanese fanbase not because of the 3 discs. In the US I think they will sell about the same. I believe this because 1.) if you only own 1 system you will buy it on the system you have and more 360s in the US. 2.) whether you want to admit it or not the achievement points are a great draw for the 360. The biggest draw and the reason I am leaning toward the PS3 version is I have been playing FF since the PS1 days and it kind of feels wrong playing them anywhere but on a Playstation. But I hate not getting the achievements.
It'll do well compared to the Japanese 360 version. That's for certain, especially since the Japanese 360 version is already being discounted at 1980 yen (about $22).

"Besides that you mean PS3, it has already sold over 1.8 million copies in Japan. If it sells that well on PS3 & 360 in the US that'll be quite a massive success.
PS3 will outsell it in the west... but not by much I reckon. The sales figures will probably be pretty similar.
" You forget living in this echo chamber, this is one of those franchises a lot of people play who rarely play videogames no matter what. There will be a huge ad campaign, probably about the scale of AC2, and it'll outsell AC2. "Yep, I've got friends who haven't touched a game for a long while asking me about FF13.
Anyhow, still sticking with what I said earlier in the thread as regarding OPs question.

Maybe if you actually played games on Xbox Live your post would have some credibility in it.
Doesn't really matter to Sony either way. Even though they would benefit from better sales on their own system, SCE owns a sizable share of Square-Enix stock. Any copy of FFXIII goes to them in some way.
Anyone with both consoles would be crazy to buy the 360 version and those without a PS3 should just a PS3 anyway. I think the PS3 version will still easily outsell the 360 version in the west - easily.
This game and the next price drop will be my reason for getting a PS3 and I can wait and not bother with 360 version.
I'll be buying mine on 360 over my PS3, simply because of where those game systems are positioned in my house. My PS3 I have set up more as a Blu-Ray player which means when my partner wants the TV or to watch a movie, no gaming can occur. The 360 on the other hand I have in a seperate 'man-land' room which is my island and fortress of solitude.
