So I was just one the Rosalina page and there is lewd fan art on her images. Is that okay in the site? I am certainly not fond of it but it's not worse than any picture of Felicia. I feel since this is not offical is is different. Plus I personally have an issue with it. What say you?
Are these images even allowed?
I'm pretty sure there's a rule against this sort of stuff, and I'm also sure @zombiepie, at some point, bragged about scrubbing this place clean of dirty images.
Someone needs to back hand @checkerknights
Yea.. This gets close to Rule 34 stuff.. DeviantArt.. ~ I'm whatever about it, but people shouldn't feel uncomfortable or any of that. Hm.
NCP Central, baby!
Yeah, that kind of thing is technically frowned on I think, but I was on The Void's page a day or two ago and lots of straight up boobies on there, although those seem to be actually from the game, so not sure if those count the same? I dunno.
Check the guys uploads he is a creepy creeper.

lmao. Giant Bomb - Your source for the biggest news and reviews in the world of Hentai.

Ya his gallery needs to be removed.

Fwww!! Um. I doubt there's any game in this database that features even that. That's straight up middle school stuff.

those are definitely part of the game and they definitely need to stay.
@mrcraggle: Thanks for doing that, I deleted those images on the basis that they were creepy as shit.
Most ppl here never saw pre-purge AnimeVice.
Oh I did. Straight up hentai everywhere dawg. Was the wild-wild west and kind of fucking hilarious.

Well, to be fair that really isn't hentai. Its more along the lines of ecchi. Although, rule still stands no nudity even if its softcore cheesecake stuff like he has uploaded.

There are some more with topless girls. Are those allowed or is it a big no?
@the_laughing_man: Where? I don't have time to look in every gallery searching for bad images.

You got them.
And yet somehow none of the deleted material managed to reach the creepiness level of Dead or Alive.

Thanks for that.
@toowalrus: It was like just boobs. But uh, sure.

Judging by that reaction i'm assuming you are new here. It is an Giant bomb inside joke from a while back. Maybe you knew and never found it funny.
We might as well start listing fan fiction for these games too if that's the route we're taking.
"Cloud dragged Sephiroth into the back of Shinra Mansion, knowing that nobody would dare intrude upon what he was going to do.
'My, your coat's open a bit, Sephy', Cloud uttered seductively. 'I can almost see your bulging chest and rippling muscles. How about we...you know...'
Sephiroth interjected. 'But I can't! Mother is certainl-'
'Shhhh. She doesn't need to know anything. It's just you and me, big boy.'"
And then it continues on and on like that, even though you really wish it didn't.
If you ask me, fan art has no place in a game wiki. It's unprofessional and has literally nothing to do with the game or it's creators. We might as well start listing fan fiction for these games too if that's the route we're taking.
Fan art in the wiki is nothing new, and there's nothing wrong with it existing in the galleries so long as it's properly categorized and doesn't contain inappropriate content.

Yes, 100%. Fan art should be removed from the wiki. You can post it on your blogs or make forum threads for it, but wiki is not the place for the fan art.

Why not? It's been allowed since day one. Certainly, there has never been an explicit rule stating that fan art is not allowed in the galleries; if that was such a concern, it would have been specifically prohibited in the rules by now.

Yeah, people need to go easy on this banning fan art stuff. As long as its not Rule 34 and its properly labled as such there is no problem. The only rules that should exist is that the fan art tonally fits with the character. Felicia art can show off what her character art normally shows off, but there shouldnt be fan art of Princess Peach in a skimpy bikini. Plus, i'd rather have the fan art crapping up the images section of a page over crapping up the forums with a shit-ton of "HERES MY THREAD OF MARIO FAN ART GUYS".
Unfortunately, a lot of fan art submitted to Giant Bomb consists of super sexualized and super young female characters wearing next to nothing, or in some cases nothing at all. It's disturbing.
@mb: Yeah, i guess that makes sense in a really fucked way. Im just a bit out of touch with the wiki side of the site and just recently started to get back into it so i could finally get enough points to set the default image on a few pages. I guess maybe there needs to be some more moderation on it if its that bad. shoudn't be anyones job to wade into the pool and fish all the turds out. Maybe mods need the ability to revoke peoples image uploading privileges(without necessarily forbidding them from editing the wiki in general)? Just to make it easier than going through on a instance by instance basis. Although as i said, i am out of touch with the wiki side, so that might even be possible and i dont know.
@phished0ne: Point is that wiki should represent factual information about the subject and fan art is not that. It does not reflect intent, production values or opinions of the original subject matter, therefore it has no place in the wiki. I am not against fan art itself, usually it is cool and interesting, but it lessens the credibility of the whole wiki and should be no part of it in a way that it currently is.

It reflects culture and fan interest in a game, and it doesn't do anything to lessen the credibility of the wiki. I don't know where you get such a ridiculous argument.
