This is in reverse order because posting stuff in this new editor is a real chore. Enjoy the list regardless. If you think other songs should be up here, speak up. Maybe something from Deus Ex?
Best Game Songs of 2011 (so far)
I have a handicap that makes me just.. not notice video game music. I have been playing games since I could remember, but I never ever pay attention to the music and look it up, to me it's just music that fits the experience, nothing more.
So i'll go with the portal opera. Listening to the first Bastion song, sounds good.
There is an incredible lack of the LA Noire theme song in here. (Both of the videos in this post should be played at the same time for maximum effect).

You're missing out then! A good soundtrack goes a long way in making a game even more special.

@natetodamax: WOW! That is a little unfair though. Rainy Mood makes everything amazing.
Haha, what's unfair about it? RainyMood merely enhances the atmosphere, tone, and mood of the song for a more memorable listening experience. It's pretty great by itself.

I can appreciate what he is saying though. I mean, I played LA Noire, but didn't give the theme song a second thought. It was more to set the mood. I really appreciate songs mostly when they stick out and make me say "Fuck, this songs is so good it almost doesn't belong here."

Whaaaaaat, really? When I first got LA Noire, despite how amazingly excited I was to play it, I literally sat at the main menu and listening to the entire 9 minute theme song twice. I think it's an astounding piece of music.

I think maybe I had been jaded by the song from all the trailers I watched with same sounding stuff in them.

your right the la noire ost is great and omg the rainymood really helped make the song even more moody and way better.
Glad to see Deus Ex getting some love because I thought the soundtrack to the whole game was pretty amazing all in all.
Sure the game is a mixed bag, but it's still a fun theme song.
Others have already been posted, Like Bastion and Portal 2.
If music from trailers for games in 2011 count, then that Assassin's Creed: Revelations CGI trailer from E3 takes the cake for me.
I don't think anything this year will beat Zia's Song for me, that moment made me remember why I like video games.
As long as Bastion is mentioned in here, I am all good. The music in that game was amazing.
Apart from the songs with lyrics in Bastion, I really enjoyed this song. (Especially around the 1:40 mark and on)
Then there is Catherine, this song is such a joy to listen to. I seriously just stayed at the bar in that game to listen to that song over and over.
For me The Witcher 2 soundtrack has some great songs
Want you gone at the end of Portal 2 is arguably better than Still alive.... Badonkadonk from ms splosion man is fun also.
