Uh....they're totally different games. I'd say if you want a more narrative driven game, go for Brutal Legend, and if you want something thats more about developing your character, go with Demon's Souls.
I know its vague, but they're so different, the only similarity being that they have swords/axes in them. Personally, I'm buying Brutal Legend first, just because I want to save Demon's Souls when I have time to get really absorbed in it.
@MVP1101: well which one do you like the most? I say try both demos out, but the only thing i know that there's a demo for brutal legends on the xbox market and psn. I don't know if the PSN has a demo for demon soul on there yet i haven't check on it on a long time.
Brutal Legend. The PS3 version is already a bit screwed by releasing on the same day as Uncharted 2. So support Tim Schafer's game... Double Fine is one of the few developers that know how to do comedy right in video games.
I'd go with Brutal Legend. Demon Souls may be awesome, but from what I've read it is also very hard. I'm all about fun first, so I like games that challenge but not to the point that playing is stressful. Brutal Legend looks surprisingly funny, too. I say "surprisingly" because I'm a little sick of Jack Black's routine.
i imported the asian version of demon souls moooonths ago, never got into it , waaay to unforgiving if u die you have to start from start again which turned me off it brutal legend seems liek a fun time
It actually is a contest, just because most people dont know shit bout the one game it hardly is though in a poll. Demons Soul to me looks waaay more interesting than Brutal Legend as far as gameplay goes, but Im very interested in both games. Of course this poll will be mostly Brutal though since everyone knows about that game more.

Its actually nothing like "any other JRPG", it more so feels entirely like a western made game 100%. I wouldnt say there is hype around Demons souls, I wouldnt call it hype at all..just the people that actually look into it more are interested in it. Brutal Legend everyone knows what its about so its not really a hard decision for anyone here.
