I liked it a lot in fairly short stints, like one assassination per sit down. I loved the control scheme though, it fit perfectly for the action.
DEBATE: Assassins Creed good or No?
I loved the game. One the best games I have ever played. I loved climbing the walls and the story was pretty good until the end.
"Mixed reactions out the ying yang"Well, I've got this teeny feeling that this is one of those "Love it/Hate it" kind of games. It is a solid game, and I think that's the general consensus here.
There's also the console vs PC experience. I played it on the PC, not immediately realizing they had added in some extra missions into each assassination and that gives me a bias towards the console versions knowing that while the PC version feels repetitive, the console version must be worse.
But I think most everyone gets a little bit of a rush whenever you finally get to flip out and stab someone in that game, which is why people will rave over it while others say "it's merely ok"
I look at it as a game that has a lot of potential for its upcoming sequels.
game had great controls, graphics, interface, exploration. it had everything but good missions. the pickpocket missions were a joke. the eavesdropping missions were a joke. the interrogation missions were a joke. the minor assasination missions were too easy not to get spotted. they should have stuck with what made the game fun - the free running - the assasinatins and the fighting. i thought the missions where you had to collect the flags in the time limit were fun but there were only a couple of those. as a result the game becomes boring and waaay to easy. they coulda done way more with it.
Assassin's Creed was far too overhype and the gameplay is just too damn repetitive (that's the biggest knock on it's Assassin's Creed, amongst other things.) There are many games on the market that's better than AC, but it's an solid game (if nothing more).
PS... I like the fact that UbiSoft did try and do something different, maybe the sequel will get it right.
It is one of the best games ever created. Only thing people seem to complain about is repetition but, in my opinion GTAIV is more repetitive.
Way too repetitive, and the acclaimed crowd system wasn't all that great... But I loved the combat, which everyone apparently hated. Climbing was fun for a while too. And nothing beats free-running on roof tops.
But the story ruined it for me, I hated it, and the AI was something along the lines of 'WTF'.
7/10
Holy fuck no. The most repetive, shallow game ive ever played. Do the same 3 tasks over and over, lather, rinse, repeat. The ai was retarded as well. The story was literally written by a four year old on cocaine, and the ending pissed me off so badly. How do you have a cliff hanger on such a crappy story? 1/5 The graphics were good though. :)
A great game, ruined by its repetitiveness. The first few assassinations are fun. But it was all, pickpocket this guy, interrogate this dude, climb building and press Y (360 version). It gets boring after a while.
So much potential, almost wasted. Hopefully a sequel will have more things to do. The gameplay is fun though. a 4/5 seems appropriate though.
