Achievements because all games support them, they are easier to access from different websites, and even inside the console, and most of my friends are on the 360
Do you perfer Trophies or Acheivments?
Although Sony tried with the leveling system (and it's a good idea), I think achievements are just easier to compare with somebody that you may be trying to keep ahead of or beat. It's easier than saying, "I got 32 bronze and 2 silver and 1 gold in that game". Either way, I generally don't go out of my way to get trophies or achievements, though they are nice and undoubtedly add some replay value to a game.
I like Achievements better but I think it is mostly due to the fact taht I got a xbox 360 before i got a PS3,and also because the trophies were added after the fact and that some games don't support them.
I also prefer the way the score adds up with the 360 ...
I hope one of them decides to make them worth something ... extra content or special access to things .. I dont know...
Trophies. Makes me feel more accomplished when I get that Platinum, as opposed to getting 1000 gamerscore. You can only get Platinum by beating the specific game, but can get 1000 gamerscore by just playing a large amount of games.

"Yeah, but you can't get 1000 points in Mass Effect by playing Need for Speed. Getting all thousand for one game is equivalent to getting a platinum for one game.
They need to bump up the available points for each title to 5000. FIVE GRAND
I like the trophy level and the idea of a platinum; but the trophy system isn't handled very well.
Trophies take ages to access, and up to 5 minutes to appear after you've earnt them, leaving you wondering if you completed the required task or not; only to have it pop up randomly during another activity.
i like to hear the "achievement unlocked" sound only to be disappointed that it's just telling me my friend is online
They're pretty much the same to me, but I like saying I "Platinum'ed" a game than getting 1000/1000. I don't really care about the overall gamer points or leveling system, I'm not quite familiar with them actually, but I just like to get Platinum for games I liked, I don't really do them for games I don't care about half way through no matter how easy they might be.
Achievements far and away.
The standardization, and greater variety of values makes the system FAR superior in my opinion.
I'd also argue that nothing is more tangible than a number.
" i like to hear the "achievement unlocked" sound only to be disappointed that it's just telling me my friend is online "lol
Achievements for me. I prefer the simplicity of them. I don't really want to earn levels or anything.
