Have you ever bought a game for yourself and never played it?

Bought Condemned 2 a while back when Best Buy was having the "3 games for $10 each" sale. Still in it's wrapping.

Far Cry 2 is the one that I think of now.

I have not. The closest would be all the games I get ~3 levels in and never finish. :'[

Rainbow Six Vegas I got the game on launch day played the first couple of levels then stopped for some reason and never played it again.

Sure, I pick up used games all the time on the cheap with an intention to play them at some point in the future.  I may not get around to it for months or longer but I do eventually...most of the time.

Not really. If I buy a game, it's because I want to play it. The only game I have that I haven't played yet is Operation Darkness, because it doesn't work on PAL consoles.

I still haven't touched Valkyria Chronicles, Killzone 2, or Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time since I bought them earlier this month, and probably won't until Christmas.

Yes, FFX.  After playing 9, I decided after I bought it, never to play it.  A few trailers convinced me, that I was to old for that shit.

Unfortunately yes, I have probably 100 games I haven't even tried yet, but I'm talking about older games that are much cheaper aka a few bucks.

Jak 3 and Sly Cooper 2. I got those games for free when i bought Ratchet: Up Your Arsenal and i never even opened them.

Usually when I buy a game I get home, rip off the packaging and play the hell out of it for the rest of the day. Now, if I buy two games, one (that current one being Brutal Legend) ends up sitting on the shelf for a good while still wrapped while the other (Uncharted 2) gets a hefty play through.

I can only think of one game ever which is Ninja Gaiden 2 but thats because i got Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma at the same time (both stupidly cheap otherwise I would have just got NG:S) and planned to play NG2 when ive completed which I havent completed yet after months. The game is opened now since I lent it to a friend.

Well I bought Rock Band 2 and I played it like twice, and haven't touched it since. I don't know if that counts, though.

star ocean for 360, which im wondering if ill ever play since im really not into jrpgs anymore (or at the moment, whatever). havent touched end war yet, and i got it at launch >_> thats about it

Yes. I discovered recently that i've only finished roughly half of the games I own, which means I haven't played more than a third of them. 

through a steam games pack. was like $30 for ~8 indie games, included braid in it.

Only a rich snob would do such a thing IMO, but I did buy both Ratchet and Clank games on the same day, however, I intend to play Secret Agent Clank after I beat Size Matters.

i bought jericho for 9.99 at best buy, still plan on playing it some day though

Yes i have quite a few games i have bought and never played.  And even More DVD's i have not watched!

For my XBOX 360 - Burnout Paradise, Fifa 08, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (I have it already on my PC, but for some reason felt i should get it on the 360 for it was a discount price), Clive Barkers Jericho, Overlord 2 (Still in packaging), Saints Row 2, Mass Effect and Dead Rising.

All the time.  I still live at home and have a full time job so I'm in saving mode right now.  I strictly use tip money to buy games and save all of my paycheck, cause I know there will be a time where I don't have the same disposable income to blow on games, but I'll still have games to play through when I can't afford every new AAA product that hits store shelves.

I bought Penny Arcade Episode 1 when it was a deal of the week and I haven't played it yet.

I have a lot of games that I haven't played yet. I buy them when they're on sale or in some sort of bundle deal. I plan on playing all of them though. I just alternate between new games and old games.

The two big ones that come to mind is SMT Devil Summoner 2 and Digital Devil Saga.  I don't think ill get to those any time soon because I have yet to beat Nocturne or Persona PSP or The first Devil Summoner. *shakes head in disappointment*

Weekend deals on steam destroy my wallet

Well I bought the first GoW and played maybe.. one level of it before I put it down. It wasn't that fun.

Half of my PS2 collection are games that I bought and never played. Some of them were Light Gun games but when I bought it with the gun, I didn't realize that I needed an older tube tv to play it. Doesn't work with LCD tvs =(  Also, MGS4 and Uncharted 1 for the PS3... bought them and never played them.  I don't know why I buy the games as soon as they come out... I probably should wait till they go on sale or go cheaper or buy them used from other people.

I bought that Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law game for PS2 because it was on clearance for ten bucks, I loved that show and figured it would be good for a laugh if nothing else, but I still haven't played it. I'll probably still play it someday but it's been a year or so already...
