My sister is away in the city today and she has the opportunity to get me a game, and then I can just pay her back when she gets home. There are 3 choices I have been thinking about.
1. Resonance of Fate: This game is nowhere to found anywhere near me. The only place that will have it is the city she is in today, 3 hours away from me. I probably won't get another chance to get it later on.
2. Alpha Protocol: Really want this game because I love Obsidian, but I can get this at Wal Mart and will probably be cheap in a few months.
3. Deadly Premonition: Same as the first, it's hard to find around here and only the city will have it. Plus it's cheap.
So, the choice is between these three games. Or are there any games that I am forgetting that I should know about before I tell her which one?
My sister is getting me 1 game today. What should it be?
Screw all those games. Go get something better, like Demon's Souls which is $30 on Amazon right now. Or Red Dead Redemption, I've heard that's a swell game. In fact, you could screw both those games too and save your money by playing a quality free game called League of Legends.
resonance of fate. Alpha would most definatly be easy to find later + cheaper. Deadly premonition is already cheap and if you watched the ER you can probably wait on playing it for a bit.
Have Demon's Souls and Red Dead Redemption already :P" Screw all those games. Go get something better, like Demon's Souls which is $30 on Amazon right now. I'm a huge RPG and cult game fan. And I didn't watch the endurance run.

" 1 or 3. Make a list comparing the pros and cons! "OK!
1. I love RPGs, I love RPGs, I love RPGs. The battle system looks intense. I enjoy slower paced games just as much as fast paced games. This might be my only chance to get it for a while.
2. Umm... I can probably get this cheaper later on so nm about Alpha Protocol.
3. It's cheap, I've seen a few gameplay videos and the music sounds like it's amazing, I love cult games, I can look for the good throughout the bad (I thoroughly enjoyed The Last Remnant, haha), and I've heard it's pretty long for an action game. Plus I may not be able to get it later as well.
" Why do you love Obsidian? They are a sloppy seconds developer. "They have perhaps the best writters in the industry.
Their games have typically been rushed out, and sometimes the gameplay suffers, but on the whole they still make very enjoyable games.
So I'd go with Alpha Protocol.
"I told her to get Deadly Premonition. It's only 25 bucks, and I can probably find the other two for cheaper later on. Money is a bit of an issue too, so that's why I went with it. "
Good choice, it's a lot of fun if you like strange games with low budget charm.

Being serious for a moment, I'm gonna say DP. It's got to be my favorite game that I never played (only watched the endurance run) yet I feel confident in saying it's a worthwile experience if you can put up with some crap and get some gameplay tips (i.e. get the radio early, skip going into and out of car animations etc). I have also enjoyed a few less than perfect, closer to middling, games over the years so I'd like to think I know what I'm talking about.
I don't have a lot of interest in Alpha Protocol but I do own Resonance of Fate, haven't played that far into it because I've been having a bit of a hard time getting into games for a while. It's supposed to get really difficult later on but from what I've seen of the battle system early on it seems pretty straightforward. I mostly got stuck deciding on if I wanted the Japanese voices with no in battle translations or the English voices, which seem good too just lacking a bit...Japanesé~.
I should go play that, or better yet I should finish Brutal Legend...or Uncharted 2...or Dragon Age...Or start FF13...Argh! this is also why I can't get into games :X
Just play Deadly Premonition!
I've been playing Alpha Protocol since last night and I've actually been into it. I wouldn't pay full price but I'm tempted since the gamefly "keep it" is like $35. I guess it's over since you already told her to get D.P. but I would definitely check out Alpha Protocol when it drops in price. As for Resonance of Fate I've been wanting to pick that up as well and it probably would have been the better choice.
