Never owned a PS2 (Yes, you read that right) and got a free 40gig fairly recently. I've always thought the God of War series looked amazing, and now I finally get to experience them. Picking this up on day one, sweet!
This is excellent news. Never really gave these games as much time as I'd have liked. I hope that Sony does a good job of the reworking. There are a lot of PS2 games that I'd like to see this treatment performed on.
This reeks and we're all dumb enough to swallow it, but i guess if Sony were to make a Sly Copper compilation I would have no other choice but to buy it.
This is great for me PS3 was the my first foray into the Playstation world and I haven't had a chance to play these games yet and have wanted to so badly.
Loved God of War, but never finished GoW2, since I kinda got tired of the formula (the word bayonetta pretty much makes me want to puke). With trophy support and all, I might as well give it a second chance.
I finally bought a PS3 like 6 months ago so I could play MGS4 and I had high hopes of finally playing through Shadow of the Colossus....I only found out afterwards that they're no longer backwards compatible and all I could think was who the hell and in what board room did they make this decision? If they have some greater plan and are going to start doing this to other older (but still awesome) games, that would be fine.
Long story short, I would totally buy Shadow of the Colossus and Ico if they did this, I'd buy 'em on launch day even
Any chance of them packing the first 3 Ratchet and Clanks together on a blu-ray with the release of the new one this holiday? That'd be awesome, too. Creating compilations could be a way to make money off games that have already earned their keep provided they put enough content on the disc and included some bonus material. Usually previous generation games remain for sale at retail, but by packaging several games onto one disc, they could give people a reason to get caught up to date with a franchise without having to hunt down a bunch of different titles or deal with a cumbersome boxed edition.
Awesome, but what the fuck, 720?? I am really tired of Next Gen meaning 720p. If you give your console 1080p, USE IT! For god's sake, its a PS2 GAME!!!! Even with 16x Anti, fucking a million anis, it shoudl run FINE. For god's effing sake. MY COMPUTER could run God of War.
So, why is this 720p exactly? Is it really a power thing? I mean, the current gen itteration of the series is supposed to be running at 720p 60 FPS, is it not? So how is a game that is clearly inferior only running at 720p? If your going to remake a game, do it at the highest resolution possible. There is a reason I got a 1080p screen, and there is a reason I don't like 720p bullshited up to 1080p.
I'd pay more than 40 bucks for reworked Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. I'd hazard a guess and say that Team Ico don't have the time right now, but I believe they would benefit from getting their games out right before Last Guardian: there are still many people who haven't played at least one of them, whether due to ignorance or even the games' general scarcity (I myself had to find Ico on craigslist for 60 bucks). Either way, a Team Ico Collection is definitely on my to-buy list.

oh cmon, you have to admit, saying "full 720p" is a little silly. There's nothing full about that :P
Maybe I'm just bitter because my stupid monitor can only properly display ps3 games that run in 1080p, and to my surprise, there are like... none of those.
