With Duke Nukem 3D being released exclusively on XBLA and having DNF unlockable screens in the game itself, I guess I can kinda believe this rumor.
http://www.thebitbag.com/2009/05/10/3d-realms-possibly-bought-out-by-microsoft/
also Apogee will discuss the state of DNF next week in a conference

"I doubt that it'll happen. Microsoft already has enough bubble gum."
Actually thats a false statement if I ever heard it
Micro$oft NEEDS more first party dev's

You do realize that MS has recently created some new studios I hope? THat and their studios are typcally larger/ more productive.
Here's the new studios:
BigPark (bought- made skate, ssx, etc.)
Wingnut (peterjackson/ ryanpayton/ some lead gearbox/ some lead bungie)--- Halo related project
Spawnpoint Studios ( who knows-- they're sort of a mystery, spawnpoint is from some people from gears and other important projects)
Mistwalker (not really new, but pretty recent--- lost odyssey, blue dragon, etc.)
Twisted Pixel--- XBLA games
I have no idea about this, but I couldn't care less about Duke Nukem at this point. The only attraction in the Duke 3D was the stupid fun and parody. I can't see how they can match that, because it is no longer new stuff.
Besides, it would be a pretty poor competitor to other FPSes out there.
"Having said that - you can never have too many first parties in my opinion. I know people seem to "hate" exclusives these days -- but lets face it, if it wasn't for exclusives then PS3/360 may aswell be the same system.BlackWaterCO said:
