There won't be many quicklooks from now on

I was checking the site periodically today and noticed how not many articles went up, and even less quicklooks. I figured that now that we're in december, not many games are coming out so, I guess that until january of next year, the only thing we can look forward on Giant bomb is the game of the year deliberations. :sigh: 
 
I can't wait until the next wave of AAA games early next year.

They can always do QUick looks for games they haven't got around to , DLC games, and even do a retro QL.

Or they will do what they did last year and have QLs of their award winners.  
Or a bunch of podcasts containing all their deliberations.

Isn't that "for now" and not "from now on" ? 
From now on makes it seem like they're going away forever o.O

Yeah, these weeks are always a little thin as far as Quick Looks and the like. But then you also get some goofy stuff as well, and of course the final week of the year is always epic.

When I read the title of this thread, I assumed Vinny had died. 
Made it sound like their would be a lack of Quick Looks from now until forever.

too bad the possibility of an endurance run isn't looking too good, from what i hear

Demo for Dead Space 2 and the Vietnam expansion for Bad Company 2 come out on the 21st. I imagine they'll get coverage, or at the very least Vietnam would, considering we've already had coverage of DS2.

They could just look into very, very crappy not-games.  Just look at that quick look for Storytime Adventures that happened shortly after Thanksgiving last year.

And yet you forget quick look throw backs...... Giant Bomb crew isn't dumb they will think of more content  to put on the site.

They can dive into older games, or go into the indie section and pop out 3-4 smaller ones a day. Steam has about 2-3 indie games going up almost every other day, so if they wanted to they could do a lot of stuff.
 
Plus I'm sure they will bring back TANG for when it get's real slow. Then before you know it it's next year and all the new year games are coming out.

Wrong sir. Rule #1 of Giant Bomb: When a good game isn't present, a game of equal or lesser value will present itself

OH GOD WHAT AM I SAYING?

Less quick looks but more GoTY deliberations from now until January doesn't sound like the end of the world to me. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the quick looks, but I believe pretty much all the content the Giant Bomb staff put out is good content.

I wish there was a current celebrity poker game because I'm pretty sure Brad Garett would be in it.

Im still hoping for minecraft endurance run. 
If that ever happens I will reach the state of nirvana.

Uh... they just uploaded a ton of quick looks not long ago. Especially the Kinect stuff. Give them time.

They could just do all the XBLA games that have come out

Early next year are some big hitters coming out. Dead Space 2, Killzone 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, MvC3.  
I'm sure they will come up with something to fill the gap between releases. They always do!

I'd love to see them pick some choice games from over the years and do some quicklooks of them. It would be neat to see some old games from dreamcast, (which they have done before), N64, Super Nintendo, NES, and other older consoles. Obviously it would be tougher to film, but I would appreciate maybe some real arcade quicklooks as it was never something I was ever very familiar with during my youth. But, whatever...I;m sure some games are coming out some where shortly for them to fill the time with.

lots of games come out in JAN, FEB, and March.
I the site will be dead for just the next 3 or 4 weeks.

Anyone else hoping for the new Neo Geo PS3 stuff QLs?  Plenty of Game Room ribs and "man, games were real back then" moments to be had.
