No replies.... Great, now I'm going to blatantly bum this thread so I can get more replies.... I can't believe I've succumb to this.

I don't think Portal counts at all, sure it's in first-person and you use a gun but it's mainly puzzle oriented and doesn't focus on combat.

Nah, Halo 2 did have great multi-player for it's time but it's seriously outdated right now and it's flaws are a lot more apparent. I went back to play it again, I couldn't stand it because the weapons were so damn unblance and the hit boxes were way too big. It's so n00b friendly it practically makes Modern Warfare 2 look like Counter-Strike... okay not that bad but pretty close.

I'm going to go with Timesplitters, I'm not sure why really, it just has charm which i have succumbed too.

Halo CE on PC is much better than any Halo game on a console. Its the only one i ever finished aswell, 2 and 3 couldn't hold my attention at all

#11 Posted by RHCPfan24 (8609 posts) -

BioShock, Half-Life 2, Portal, and I was in LOVE with Medal of Honor: Frontline as a youngin'.

Nah, the PC version doesn't have co-op. It also runs like shite.

I'm not a big fps guy though.  Also, Half Life 2 is a bit overrated (sorry). Maybe i just played it too late.

Dude, that was practically the last good Medal of Honor game. Every other game in the series after it ranged from decent to crap. Medal of Honor Allied Assault is still the best in the series, that might change with the new upcoming Medal of Honor game. I hope EA doesn't screw this one up.

Left 4 Dead 1 and/or 2.

#19 Posted by Cornman89 (1579 posts) -

Metroid Prime, BioShock and Half Life 2.

I don't play many FPSs, though.

#20 Posted by AjayRaz (12418 posts) -

Red Faction, CoD4 (yeah, COD4.), Black, Postal 2 and others

Exactly, Half-Life 2 was, is, and always remain a masterpiece... despite crappy A.I. and ho-hum gunplay.

Time Splitters 2, Red Faction, Half life 2, insurgency.

I was going to say Goldeneye, but that was the decade after last.  I guess I'll go with Perfect Dark then.

No order (and fuck Quake 3 for having a Decemeber 1999 release date, so close)

Half Life 2 and episodes.
Portal.
Deus Ex.
Stalker.
Bioshock.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (toss up between it and one but I've played more of the second games multiplayer by far)
Battlefield: Bad Company.
 Alien VS Predator (2000).
Unreal Tournament 2004.
Killzone 2 (purely for having the first multiplayer  where I saw  people not on an established team actually working together).

Half Life 2
Call of Duty 4
Battlefield 2

@nintendoeats:  I feel like I should have liked that game, it just seemed to drag on .  Portal was great though.
#32 Posted by Absurd (2934 posts) -

Mostly all the Source engine games especially Counter Strike: Source.

#33 Posted by nintendoeats (5975 posts) -
@evanbrau: Do you mean as in teams that weren't in clans, or that people in deathmatch were working together?

Because my experience with CS has been that people will usually work together.

Not that there is anything wrong iwth KZ2, just thinking out loud here.

Half-Life 2 primarily. Bioshock was okay, I guess. I liked Killzone 2 some.

EDIT: Wait, decade - are we talking 2000 through to 2009, or 2010 through to 2019?

EDIT redux: Because if we're talking 2000 through to 2009, then my original answer applies. If not, then I cannot provide an answer to your question. I'm sorry.

I picked Halo 2 because that was the game that defined my high school experience. It was the one game that me and all my friends would play together in one room on the weekends. We would hold large parties from the morning to the evening. It was a wonderful time.
