There's a ton of great games coming out next year, both big and small, so I was wondering what games you guys are looking forward to the most.

Witcher 3, Persona 5 and Metal Gear Solid 5 are all pretty much equal for me but I have to give the edge to MGS5 solely because you can put balloons on everything.

Unrelated Observation: 2015 is truly the year of the Fifthquel with the aforementioned P5 and MGS5 as well as Disgaea 5, Halo 5 and the English version of Yakuza 5.

There seems to be a lot of potentially great games coming out next year, but at the moment, I'm not looking forward to any particular game more than the rest. If I had to pick though, it'd be Hotline Miami 2 and Bloodborne since they should be out in Q1.

MGS5 is easily my number one though the Wii U Zelda and Persona 5 are also likely day one purchases.

All of them. Seriously.

Like.....good lord there's so much stuff coming out next year. I guess the big 4 are Persona 5, MGS5, Zelda, and Batman though

@syce300: @frostyryan: After what they showed of Zelda at The Game Awards I am super skeptical it will be good. It looks like the Witcher 3 with no NPCs. Just a big empty open world with nothing to do in it but find Heart Pieces.

I guess I've gotta go with Zelda?

The Witcher 3 and MGSV are up there. I dare not hope for Persona 5 being released in 2015 in PAL regions.

@frostyryan: At least MGS5's has inherent gameplay effects. They've shown that it gives more options when it comes to infiltration.

@meatball: You should think about importing it, either digitally or physically.

Bloodborne, hands down. That game looks fucking sick. So fast, so quick. And I love the visual style they're going after.

Honestly, I kind of don't really care about Zelda's open world and I can totally understand skepticism of what they've shown - the demonstration at The Game Awards really was just a lot of "Hey look I'm riding my horse around and I can go over that hill in the distance".

The main thing I'm excited for about that game is more dungeoning goodness and the potential to build on the changes to the formula A Link Between Worlds offered. Basically, I'm looking forward to it because it's Zelda, I love modern Zelda and things said about its direction sound promising (though I honestly didn't have a problem with the changes made to Skyward Sword - one of my favourite games in the series).

@corevi I don't know why that hadn't even sprung to mind, I guess it's because I've gotten so used to Atlus games I'm looking forward to being 3DS releases and the inherent region lock that comes with. When Catherine and P4G were released I imported, so yeah, I'll likely do the same for P5 (assuming there isn't some P4A style wackiness going on, but P4AU didn't have that problem, so I doubt that'll be a factor).

MGS: TPP. I love MGS, it's my favorite game series and everything they've shown of the next game looks amazing. Plus it looks like this'll be the best playing MGS since the first one!

The most? Shit, I could probably rattle off a hundred games I'm really looking forward to next year, but just picking one is pretty tough...

I'd say it's a toss up between Halo 5, DOA:LR, and Disgaea 5. Mirror's Edge 2 too I guess, but has that been confirmed for 2015 or no?

Fine, I'll be that guy: No Man's Sky!

Other than that, Witcher 3, I guess. Batman, cause those games have all been knock-outs every time.

@babychoochoo: Considering how prototypey their showing for Mirror's Edge 2 at E3 was I don't see any way for it to come out next year.

@hurricaneivan29: I highly doubt No Man's Sky will make a 2015 release, but it would be real cool if it did!

I would be considering how much they've shown of it. Persona 5 is the only of those I could see getting delayed into 2016.

Metal Gear Solid 5 for sure. I'm actually a little unsure of Bloodborne. Don't get me wrong, I loved both Dark Souls and Demon Souls, but having just finished Dark Souls 2 I'm starting to want something more out of those games. I want Persona 5, although I may not have the time to put into that game that it will require. I've actually been going through the Persona 4 ER again just for something to watch while I go to sleep. Witcher 3 looks amazing, hopefully it runs okay on the console because there is no way in hell my PC is doing that game justice. I'm also kind of excited for The Order, I love the look of that game a lot and I'm always down for a solid third person cover based shooter.

Let's see what's slated for 2015...

  • Bloodborne (March 24th)
  • Ori and the Blind Forrest (Q1)
  • Witcher 3 (May 19th)
  • Batman Arkham Knight (June 2nd)
  • Splatoon (Q2)
  • Uncharted 4 (All Uncharted games have been Oct or Nov)
  • Metal Gear Solid V (TBA)
  • Final Fantasy XV (TBA)
  • Persona 5 (TBA)
  • Zelda Wii U (TBA)
  • Star Fox Wii U (before Zelda)
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X (TBA)
  • Hyper Light Drifter (TBA)
  • No Man's Sky (TBA)
  • Rime (Not officially announced as 2015, but come on)
  • Last Guardian (Q4)

If I had to rate how excited I am for them in tiers...

  1. Persona 5 / Zelda Wii U / FF XV / Xenoblade Chronicles X
  2. Bloodborne / Metal Gear Solid V / Rime / Witcher 3
  3. Uncharted 4 / Splatoon / Hyper Light Drifter / Ori and the Blind Forrest
  4. Batman Arkham Knight / No Man's Sky
  5. Star Fox Wii U (no idea what to expect from a Star Fox game)

Metal Gear Solid V (assuming MGO launches at the same time). Can't wait to see the full game after Ground Zeroes, and every multiplayer game that isn't MGO is dead to me after that launch.

Really excited about Final Fantasy Type 0 and FFXV even though I don't think XV is coming out in 2015 outside of Japan.

Rarely have I been excited for a game as I am for MGS5.

Edit: I honestly think that MGS5 will be one of the best games to come out for a long time.

Persona 5 is up there as well, especially as it's coming out on the PS3.

FFXV looks pretty cool, but I'll wait on the almost inevitable PC release announcement before getting excited for it.

Either One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 (fuck yeah PC release) or Godzilla. I fully acknowledge both games will probably suck to anyone who isn't a fan of either property.

But wow, 2015 is going to be an expensive ass year. So many games I want, no, need to play.

Edit: I made a list!

MGS5: Big Boss finally losing his mind against the backdrop of 1980's Afghanistan. Kojima is a master hypeman and I seriously hope he can deliver. This one's either going to be a masterpiece or a punchline when we finally get our greedy hands on it.

Am I a crazy person for attempting to find Phantom Pain plot details in a Joan Baez song?

Rainbow Six: Siege.

I've been playing MP shooters with the same people for over 10 years now, and for the first time ever, we don't really have a go-to game after BF4 was such a dud. Hoping Siege will remedy that situation, and a modern take on a R6 game may be just what we need.

I'm interested in seeing what that new Star Fox is. If Bloodborne meets the Dark Souls standards, it'll be my jam for a long time too.

There's no way the new Zelda game is coming out next year. If it was, I'd say that. But I just don't believe it. But then, I thought SSB Wii U was going to be delayed but it wasn't. So...yeah.

Oh yeah, and Quantum Break could be way awesome. I really loved Alan Wake a lot. Oh and I hope NHL 16 isn't completely messed up next year too.

EDIT: Persona 5, Splatoon, Yoshi's Woolly World, Kirby & The Rainbow Curse, Mario Maker, Axiom Verge...there's a lot to look forward to.

It would be Persona 5 if there was an actual chance in hell it comes to the U.S. next year, which it won't.

I guess Starfox, since its been far too long since we had a decent one.

Definitely Persona 5.

If it's released next year, Final Fantasy XV, at least the demo will be out.

We haven't seen much of Rime but that looks pretty good, reminiscent of Ico and Journey.

Part 2 of Broken Age.

I'm weirdly fascinated by Firewatch, mostly because I want to know what it is.

Everybody's Gone To The Rapture.

Also Frog Fractions 2.

Edit: If re-releases count then Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle because I've never played them and I've heard great things.
