While watching, there was one reveal that made me act like the n64 kid on christmas day. Golden Sun. No other game even came close.
Which single game was the highlight of E3?
For me, none of them. Technicly Alan Wake, but that game is already like 4 years old so, it's not really from this years E3.
There's a lot of quality stuff, but I was excited most to see the new Mario Galaxy game. I was hoping for a few more JRPG's to be announced, but hey, what can you do?
Well the announcement of FF XIV was the most shocking for me. My jaw literally dropped and i thought it was just an error when he said it. It would have made me spit out any drink at the time.
It's probably The Last Guardian though. I absolutely adore team ico. The intial leaked footage amazed me, and the polished extended trailer just furthered that.
MGS: Peace Walker. Splinter Cell: Conviction.
and sort of L4D2...I mean I don't like that it's coming out so soon because there wasn't worth 50 bucks and I think Valve should have given us a huge update ,but I like that it's coming out.
And Maybe FF14 If it's any good. The Trailer wasn't as impressive as FF13, but It's an online game so.. :/
"@Milkman said:It sure is. I dont understand your point about what year it is. "" Golden Sun is your game of the show?! You do realize it's 2009. "
Anyway, Golden Sun DS was the highlight of the show for me as well with Tales of Monkey Island being a close second.
Alan Wake looked awesome as well, but that's more of an E3 2005 game. It's nice to see they're finally making some progress on it, though.
" It's not over yet. Wait and see. "
" E3 isn't over, wait to see more :PRed Steel 2 blew me away though, I didn't see it coming. "
If I hadn't seen the trailer allready The Last Guardian. With the suprise element in mind Metroid the Other M.
So far, it's Metroid. Holy shit I did not see that coming.
Golden Sun DS is a close second. I loved the first two GS games so I'm psyched for this. Although, I think I would have had them gone the way of really detailed sprites rather than 3d graphics, but hey, still looks awesome.
I'm sorry, it can't be one
- Conviction
- ODST
- Reach, MGS5 announcement
- Team Ninja Metroid
that's the biggies.
and some that arent' even though they'rebig games...sadly:
- Alan Wake---> it looks like a third person shooter
- Super Mario Galaxy 2---> it looks exactly the same
most interesting-- Lionhead's tech demo/ new game
More gameplay of the same game, meaning just more of the same (not revealing anything new) aka GOW3 or COD5 doesn't impress at all, though they're definately something to buy.
Edit: why are people saying the last guardian? We saw that weeks ago.
Bioware had some really cool stuff, but all expected.
For me the biggest surprise was Crackdown 2, it wont be the best game ever but it's a hell of a lot of fun.
Another surprise was L4D2! No-one was really expecting that.
I think it will be some time before we see L4D 2. Valve has a habit of taking awhile before they blow our socks off. It would not surprise me if the game came out 2 years from now with portal 2 and episode 3 in the "Blue box".
I don't think we've seen the last of DLC for L4D.

Super Mario Galaxy 2. I haven't even had a chance to play the first one, now I have a second one to look forward to as well?
I'm stoked about New Super Mario Bros Wii as well
Uncharted 2 wasn't surprising but looked beautiful, the combat and platforming were mixed well, the combat looked more polished, and enemies died in a reasonable amount of shots. Everything I was hoping for. Really looking forward to that game.
Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed II, The Last Guardian, Agent (even with no info), Alan Wake, all the Bioware stuff... a lot of great looking games.
" For me, none of them. Technicly Alan Wake, but that game is already like 4 years old so, it's not really from this years E3. "
If there's just one thing though, it's easily Milo.
And according to Sessler it works as he's played it. granted though, there's still a game they have to make based on this concept.
Modern Warfare was the most impressive in that gameplay demo, but I'm more psyched for Reach actually. All of Bioware's stuff looked great as well....could the KOTOR MMORPG actually be the first decent console MMO??? Still wanna see something about Borderlands, BBC2, and Dark Void. Splinter Cell: Conviction was pretty damn awesome looking...... surprisingly so for me.
