No. It may be physical attraction at first sight, but we can't talk about love.

Infatuation at first sight, but not love.

#12 Posted by Chop (1707 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

Yes, but I'm a cheesy romantic.

#13 Posted by pyromagnestir (2897 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

I knew I loved me from the the moment I laid eyes upon me.

#14 Posted by kgb0515 (410 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

Not the reciprocal kind between humans, but I have fallen in love with some consumer products at first sight.

#15 Posted by Everyones_A_Critic (6068 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

Nope, but lust sure as Hell is.

#16 Posted by Wrighteous86 (3355 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

I believe in boners at first sight. That's the extent of it.

#17 Posted by Mezmero (1176 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

I believe in erection at first sight. Would you like to rephrase the poll?

#18 Posted by UlquioKani (837 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

Yes. I've meet my gf at the kebab bar :P

We were out with a pack of "friends"(I was 19teen and rarely left my pc :P). And there were few people I didn't know. She was sitting right across me on the opposite site of the table (turned front to me) and she was looking at me during eating. She had such a crazy emotional look. I will never forget it. She basically couldnt focus on eating that thing.I instantly falled in love. I messaged her in the evening and we were out on a date next week and a couple week later.

We are together 5years ;)

Attraction =/ love

#23 Posted by HiCZoK (150 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

You don't get it do ya ? ;)

I cant even describe it

#24 Edited by OmegaChosen (644 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

...Sure, why not. Takes all sorts and so forth. If someone says they fell in love at first sight, who am I to argue? I've got better things to do than pick apart other peoples' emotions.

Yeah this.

And it could work out.

The girl I was closest with and had the most feelings for was the exact opposite situation, a slow burn.

#26 Posted by Levio (1389 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

If it takes you awhile to fall in love with someone, then there's no way they're the person you will love the most. You're just settling.

#27 Posted by punkxblaze (2411 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

No, but I do believe in fuck at first date.

#28 Posted by hermes (715 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

Do you believe in life after love?

#30 Posted by OfficeGamer (1024 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

only the stupid shallow kind of love that bieber kids all over the fucking world fall into and out of within days or weeks.

which sadly is what love is today. it's a thing.

#31 Posted by BillyTheKid (432 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

No, maybe in love with their body.

#32 Posted by ApolloBob (565 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

I believe there are certain people we feel a strange draw towards - when those people are part of our dating pool we might mistake it for love at first sight, but it could just as easily be a strange mental hiccup that ultimately means nothing.

#33 Posted by TaliciaDragonsong (8669 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

Attraction at first sight yes.

Love, no.

#34 Posted by NTM (6419 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

Only the most immature and inexperienced do, so no.

I don't even believe in love.

#37 Posted by Colourful_Hippie (2597 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

Could have sworn this thread was already made and by someone with the same avatar.

Also it's called lust.

I think it takes a very fickle person to feel such a strong emotion as love towards something based only on first sight.

Video_Game_King loves us too - why else would he have over 26,000 posts? That says "Why can't I quit you, Giant Bomb community?"

It doesn't have to be love. It could be an existential mindfuck.

#45 Posted by wrecks (1874 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

Yes. You can really only believe it if it happens to you. Like it did for me and my wife 18 years ago.

#46 Posted by Aronman789 (2610 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

Not really, I believe you could get a strong sense of affection or infatuation, but actual love is built up slowly as you get to know the person, that's why you should never say "I love you" too early; your partner might not be there yet.

#47 Edited by Sanity (1506 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

Not really, too many experiences of seeing someone attractive then finding out there personality sucks will do that.

#48 Posted by Hunter5024 (2680 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

Love? No, I think actually knowing someone is a prerequisite for love. But there was a girl who I really liked after the first time I saw her, and not because she was cute or anything, it was just one of those weird gut reactions.

#49 Posted by TheManWithNoPlan (751 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

Yes I Do! The first time I laid eyes upon Bioshock Infinite, I fell in love.

#50 Posted by hollitz (634 posts) - 3 months, 20 days ago

At first sight, it's infatuation. Like the reverse of being prejudice. You assign all these positive qualities to someone that you've just met based solely on their appearance.
