Got any?

I suppose I say nothing to do with cats and dogs (unless your dog is part wolf, and your cat is linked to Savannah cat's or bobcats) more like reptiles, parrots, something unusual. Though having an exotic pet is hardly unusual anymore. Everyone wants something different. I think Savannah's and Fennec' foxes are the thing currently. But if you do show pic's, what you named them, how long you've had them.

We all have lives outside our gamplay, let's see a tiny nugget of it!

Here's mine:

Castro, my cuban, he's a bit of a stubborn eater and tends to like to try and be violent, at least to my sister, mostly he and I are on the same level accept when he's shedding. He then tends to get nasty, but i have to help him get the shed away from his mouth, he has a really hard time with it.

Goliath - Female (Crestied Gecko)
Goliath - Female (Crestied Gecko)

Goliath, my tiny gecko girl. She's jumpy and tends to wanna kamikaze the cat's, not a smart idea. She's cute though, a VERY good eater, you can't stop her from destroying some crickets. Though she needs to eat more CGD (crested Gecko diet) which she hates, but too bad.

Duncan - Male (Crestied Gecko)
Duncan - Male (Crestied Gecko)

This is Duncan. The newest member of the family, I got from a friend who shipped him to me in the mail. He's a big boy, and hopefully when Gol get's old enough she and Duncan will make little gecko kids of their own. He's too bight right now, he's about 33 grams. Goliath is only 10 so, it's going to be a long time, but I'm in no rush.

I may be getting a baby Leopard gecko from the same friend. Her two mated and have two eggies and I hope to get one, my first leopard gecko i had for a week, and found too late that petco sold me one with worms.. He passed. Same for Petco's beardie we spent money on. Simply put, I'm not buying animal's from them ever again.

If I can't get a little leo I may get a small corn snake, I've had my heart set on a snake, and I'm still trying to convince my family it's not a bad idea. *sigh*

Anyway...

Not gonna lie. Those things scare the shit outta me.

Friend of mine has a whole shed (properly heated and cared for etc) literally wall to wall with lizards, bullfrogs, snakes, tarantulas etc plus a coy carp pond and a tortoise enclosure in his back garden.

I had a St Bernard (2 in fact) I guess those are kind of unusual on account of how huge they are, but, a dog is still a dog.

Never had any myself - but you might be interested in a documentary coming out called "The Elephant in the Living Room" about people who own exotic pets.... and by exotic I mean lions, gorillas, cheetahs, etc...

@The_A_Drain:  I'd love to see that shed! And I could count saint Bernard, besides Beatoven I've never seen anyone own any cause they are so big.

@ztiworoh: Not planning to own anything like that. I'm more into the herps and small snakes variety.

@Atomasist: Thats pretty cool.

@hinderk: I used to have one of those when i was little. ^^ keep them all together or separate?

All I've ever had is cats or dogs. I want a raccoon dammit, the guys are so adorable :(

Not exactly exotic, but how many people do you know with cats/dogs vs raccoons.

@Zenaxzd: Raccoon's are a bad choice, my father's friend had one for ten years and one day it just went nuts on him and ripped off his ear. Blood everywhere. They do NOT make good pets and no matter how long you have one, eventually they turn, even if they love you. They cannot be tamed. Raccoons just stay wild, and are unpredictable.

My Father had a pet skunk, which are very much like cats, you have their stink sack removed and they do make good pet's, much like a fennec, i haven't heard many bad stories about skunks. Maybe you should try that. if you don't want to lose your face.

@eroticfishcake: Unless this woman is of a mixed race (actually exotic) no.

@Mr_Skeleton: I would say so, I've never met anyone who's had a pet Chinchilla. Let alone two.

I wouldn't call them exotic, but I used to have two ferrets.  They're pretty social animals and need constant simulation so it's important to have a pair unless you spend a lot of time with the one.   Having a pair makes it easier though since they can entertain each other when you are doing other things.  Unlike cats and dogs, they can't be allowed out of their cages unsupervised because they will get into trouble.

@Matfei90:  Snakes are great. I used to be really fearful of lizards, but when I got an iguana when I was little i fell in love, been wanting another ever sense and a year ago my dad got me one for Christmas, love my Castro to death and slowly I started getting more XD I really REALLY want a snake but sense we have cats and dogs my father is opposed thinking they'll get eaten XP.

@tiwi: They are? That sucks, they are earlly cool and easy to keep (gecko's) the Cuban is a big of an issue but with space and a little love he does alright. Occasional bath (same with the geckos)

@Rourkey: That would be pretty sweet.

@HS21: It puts the lotion on it's skin or it get's the hose again.

@PenguinDust: Ferret's are still out of the ordinary so I think they count. My sister wanted a ferret but we told her no, they need constant attention or it wouldn't be happy. (she dosen't take care of the animals she has. I do.)

What's the point of raising reptiles and other similar animals when you can't do anything with them? You can't play with them or anything and basically end up just feeding them and cleaning their poop up. I don't see the appeal unless you're a scientist or researcher or something.

Can't do anything with them? I take mine out all the time and let them roam my room. I call that playing, it's cute. Also Tossing crickets to see them lunge at it happily is satisfying. But different strokes for different folks.

@jadeskye: The geckos eat Crested Gecko diet about three times a week (every other day) and crickets about once after I feed them carrots and stuff. My little girl looovvees the crickets. I feel bad that i can't give her more but I don't want her to get sick later on. And every once and a while i mash some banana's or something soft (fruit) and they eat that.

I love my cat. He is a big old barely 3 year old kitten.
