Handsoap: Do you prefer liquid or bar? (Question of the Day 11-16-10)

I HATE liquid soap. I generally don't use it at all unless I'm buying it to save money or already have it/have to use it. I just hate the feel of it and how it feels like it doesn't get off your hands often times. Barsoap all the time for me. 

Liquid for hands, bar for shower. I don't like using bar soap for hands, because if I'm at somebody else's house, there's no way of knowing who used it. When I shower, I use my own soap. 

In my experience bar soap almost always smells horrible where as liquid does not.

I have an allergy to liquid soap. My hands swell up. Bar soap is the way to be!!!!

Aww. I didn't see D. Anyways nothing nastier than using an already wet bar of soap to wash your hands. Especially that shit soap with the rocks in it. Glad that stuff just suddenly stopped.

Always liquid. Bar soap dries my skin for some reason.

I like liquid.  Don't have to mess around with that dumb bar.

Whether for the hands, face, shower, all the time. Liquid always gets me paranoid that there is semen in it. Also, I just prefer the feeling of using a bar. I rub it, and get my hand all soapy-I feel accomplished.

Only liquid.  Especially since these days I often only see bar soap in hotels and such...  Which just kinda put me off them.  I just feel awkward when washing certain areas with a bar, maybe it would be better when I know I'm the only one using it.  Also, when I use bar I find myself constantly bending over to pick it up again; I'd say that's gotta be some kind of safety risk.

You're supposed to soak your hands BEFORE applying liquid soap. Soap isn't soap without water. Then it's just tensides or whatever. And liquid soap is harder to get off if you don't soak your hands first too :) "

This IS true, but it's never bothered me really. Even given this truth, those people were just washing with it so their bodies are clean. I guess this is only understood and seen as fact and non-nasty if you grew up always sharing a room with your brothers/family members and thus always sharing soap/towels, as was the case growing up with my parents and my siblings.

I prefer my McTavish in the form of a nice hard bar.

I use liquid soap for my hands, and a bar for the shower. For some reason, I don't like using liquid soap in the shower. I believe that's just out of habit though.

i heard liquid soap isnt good for u cause it promotes resistant in the germs or something.  wait no i think that might just be for hand sanitizers...  well anyways i try using bar soap all the time

I wouldn't call what I like "liquid soap", even though you have to pump it. I prefer the stuff that turns into foam once it hits air instead of the slimy shit you have to add water to then lather. For hands.
 
 For shower it depends on what I'm washing.

Liquid. Bars are counter-intuitive since they slip all over the place and such. Liquid soap is easy-peasy.

liquid soap is the best.

I like bar because I associate liquid with public bathrooms.

Liquid for hands, bar for shower. I feel like liquid soap is more hygienic than bar soap when I'm washing my hands, and I feel like bar soap is more practical for shower times because it's way too easy to use liquid soap immediately. I have never actually seriously thought about this, it's interesting to put a conscious motivation behind the decision.

I was always a liquid hand/ bar shower kind of guy, but I very recently made the switch to pure liquid and I don't think I'll be switching back anytime soon.
