I go to a community college Called NOVA in you guessed it Northern Virginia and yesturday some kid came in with a high powered rifle and attempted to shoot a teacher. This world is fucking crazy. Thank god noone was injured

Ha, when I was in high school, a kid showed up in the parking lot and shot his girlfriend four times in the chest, then shot himself. The girl was pregnant too. But it was haliarious! He shot the chick FOUR times, and she LIVED! Her baby too. Crazy.

in my school some kid brought in a gun to school. he didn't live in the town he lived in a city like next couple of towns over. he was stupid and told a lot of people. when somebody did tell the principle the gun ended up just being a air-soft gun that was spray-painted black. everyone just laughed about it.

My dad told me about this this morning. He said the kid walked in, shot some rounds at the ceiling, sat at a desk, and waited to be arrested. What an idiot.

That's kinda weird though that he didn't hurt anyone. He could have easily taken out (or at least hurt) the teacher and his classmates. Thank God it didn't happen and you're ok, but this makes me believe this was him wanting attention but didn't really want to kill anyone. Or maybe he realized what he was doing was fucked up after the first shot.

That's an unusual case of a high school shooting or lack thereof anyway. Regardless of what he did, at least nobody got hurt.

Yep, and that's why that kid fails. It's like when a bunch of people tried to admit to the Zodiac killings. But I'm talking out my ass. Either way, it's a good thing this mishap didn't turn into a tragedy.

I really don't want to say it, but I will, this is why I'm glad we don't have guns in the UK.

@ahriman22: Agreed, they are available, but even black marketeers have some discretion. I mean, six year olds can't just walk into the living room and pick one off the rack, which is going to be loaded, but potentially have the safety. It is easier to get a hold of in the USA, because everyone has access to one. Also, the last time there was a school shooting in the UK, it was caused by a mentally disabled, IRA sympathiser.

There was a stabbing at my old high school recently. (I graduated) The boy who got stabbed is partially brain dead because the guy stabbed him in the neck and he lost too much oxygen to the brain. Stabbed him right in his artery, lost a lot of blood. There's a long story behind it too of why it happened. =/

@CandleJakk: Actually, it's illegal to have any guns on "display" or in any place that's easily accessible to some clever child. Guns must be kept in safes at all time that they are present in the home except for cleaning and such things. Any idiot that keeps their guns loaded AND in a place that any kid or teenager can get them shouldn't even be allowed to own guns.

@ahriman22: Okay, I will admit I don't know the US Firearms laws inside and out, certainly regarding that common sense first part about keeping them in safes, which does make sense, but as far as I can work, generally unenforceable except in cases of chance. Most houses I know of that have guns, (be they shotguns for hunting or air rifles), are always loaded, just in case of intrusion, to be used as a last resort threat. Even my dad says 'What's the point in having a gun if it's not loaded?', even if we only use it to shoot vermin.

However, it is my belief that if you try and shoot another human, you're a moron who deserves what's coming to you.

My god, i really do not know what to say. I live in Australia so apart from rural areas we really dont have guns to be honest. Its illegal to own any sort of automatic or semi-automatic firearm here unless your police or military.

It doesn't say it in that article, but the gun was a .30-06 bolt-action rifle bought at a Dick's Sporting Goods store. Fortunately, the gun jammed on him.

Really? Wow... What a great weapon to chose for shooting up a school. While .30-06 is powerful, using it for this situation was probably the best proof of how much of a retard he was.

He should've lrn27.62mm.

EDIT: Actually 9mm, because at 25 cents a round, it's much better. And 7.62 is military...
