To all people who keep suggesting what the watchmen...
If you believe that you can make a better movie that details everything in the Watchmen Graphic Novel, and make it more entertaining that Zack Snyder's film, by all means, go ahead.
Oh wait? You don't want to....
well can I treat you to a nice warm glass of "shut the fuck up."
"HandsomeDead said:In my opinion, that was the most successful part of the film. It keeps the theme intact but makes it more threatening and less tiresome to set up than the squid."I do want to. I just can't."Ditto. They wouldn't license it again anyway. I think when the ending of the movie, reverses entirely the author's theme, that could be considered epic failure."
I didn't have any problem with the movie (well, maybe the ending. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't Watchmen either), but i can understand people who did, and they should be free to express their opinion. However, i do understand what you are saying. It can be annoying when all people do is disparrage a fair attempt at an impossible movie adaption.
"HandsomeDead said:Actually, the shitty adaptations of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and V for Vendetta are why Moore wanted nothing to do with the movie."LuckyWanderDude said:The theme was not kept in tact. They made the liberal ending (sacrifice accepted for the greater good) into a conservative ending (Rohrshach was so individual for wanting to ruin world peace). The ending does hold the same tone and theme. I would suggest reading the graphic novel again for a refresher course. = D
"jakob187 said:Really? Because, when I saw it, it looked like a choice for the viewer: do you side with Ozymandias and the rest of the Watchmen, or do you side with Rorschach? I must've been watching that movie on a different level than just face value. I'll remember to never look into something more than face value again. = D"LuckyWanderDude said:Alan Moore did not write that novel with some conservative vision in mind, that movie tried to paint the death of Rorschach as a bad thing for Christ's sake!""HandsomeDead said:Actually, the shitty adaptations of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and V for Vendetta are why Moore wanted nothing to do with the movie."LuckyWanderDude said:The theme was not kept in tact. I thought The Watchmen was a good movie, I don't know why everyone complains about the ending. There is no way the ending from the graphic novel would have made the masses happy.
i thought the movie was good. a porn scene every 5 minutes is a plus in my book. and the chick who played Silk Spectre II.. HOT
"To all people who keep suggesting what the watchmen movie really should have been like. I admire your efforts, but the general consensus on this one is that it's mediocre. For me, watching the most faithful adaptation (aside from the ending......duh) to the cource material was enough for me to love the film. The blue dick argument is fucking retarded. A dick on screen can ruin an experience for you, but tits don't do anything? Ok buddy....
I still stand by my opinion that the film was phenomenal, and think that most of the people who hated it have either not read the graphic novel before or went into it expecting it to suck.

"Oh, the ending was ruined", "Blue Penis OH NOEZ!", "How come they left out this?", etc.I bet most people who say Uwe Boll's stuff is shitty couldn't make a better film than him either, but you don't have to make movies to be a critic of one. You're pretty stupid if you think that.If you believe that you can make a better movie that details everything in the Watchmen Graphic Novel, and make it more entertaining that Zack Snyder's film, by all means, go ahead.Oh wait?
