Are you trying to make fun of America? You insult our country in the opening post of this topic, right under a picture of our eagle and our flag. I would be very disappointed to call you a fellow American.
Why is America The Greatest Country?
Canada is much better. CANADA is much better. You can drink and gamble at the age of 18, their strip clubs let you get drunk, and the strippers strip off all their clothes (USA if they serve alcohol you they won't show you their downstairs). So in short you get to see every part of the female body, drink, and gamble all in the same city.
Ugh... Threads like these make me facepalm. The last time the U.S (Not AMERICA, America is a Continent, not a country, get it right dammit) was of any use was during WWII, not that I really care about it. Everyone should just get of their high horses, no country is the greatest and all countries are shit, including mine (Canada).
I could say more but my Nihilism usually offends people.
Nobody getting the sarcasm of the opening post?
I thought it was fairly obvious.
There is no single country that is the greatest. A lot of the are great but, they always have some fucked up flaw that doesn't make em the best.
Fuck blind patriotism and fuck nationalism.
National pride just causes wars and ignore massive flaws in the government. Be a little detached about that kinda stuff, its not worth it.
"Oriental_Jams said:Yup, not for everyone, just the really quite rich (£150K+), in an attempt to drive away all of the wealthy investors the country needs to stop being a shit hole. Damn I love my country."Because the UK has introduced a 50% income tax?"has it? lol trying to emulate scandinavia......."
I am a Scandinavian and I'm sure I don't need to tell you about the rampant anti-Americanism here. I haven't been to France but I'd say there is an equal amount recentment emerging from debates whenever America is the topic.
- The highest unemployment rate in Europe for young people especially, due to a regulated market with no labour freedom and a strong union. Denmark our relaxed and flexible neighbour, who stands closer to America, enjoys THE best European labour market. The contrast is high, many Swedes work in Denmark instead.
- Swedes are among the poorest people in Europe, only in the mediterranean do people generally have less purchasing power. The difference is, Swedes have an irresponsibly high tax-burden, which is why they cannot lead their own lives but are more effected by government decisions, because they have the money.
- Don't get me started on the healthcare system. Swedes are moving towards private alternatives, that should give you an idea of what the most successful example of public care is like
