List your favorite TV Series with a small description on why you like it.
Big Bang Theory. Outrageously funny.
Two and a Half Men. Long time running series, still hilarious and one of a kind entertainment.
Merlin. Great entertainment, each episode is great in it's own way.
Fringe. Fun to watch, the Americans sure know what people want. - God bless them.
Your favourite TV Series
Of all time?
Arrested Development - Judging by my constant avatar, you probably know why.
Seinfeld - It's Seinfeld!!
Lost - I know it is not healthy for you but....I am shameless.
The Office - Yep, the American version. I have seen too many great episodes of this show to think otherwise.
30 Rock - More of a contemporary pick (I am not sure how it will age), but this show has won its Emmys for a reason.
Curb Your Enthusiasm - Larry is king.
Daily Show with Jon Stewart - The only late-night show you need to watch.
South Park - Why anyone likes South Park....
The Simpsons - Almost forgot this one; it is a classic and I still watch it to this day.
I don't really watch TV but I do avidly watch Californication with my girlfriend every weekend, It's one of the few shows that appeals to me.
South Park - Cutting edge satire
The Wire - Gripping view of society and enjoyable characters
Breaking Bad - Amazing acting and thrilling story arcs.
Dexter: I haven't been diggin the new season as much, but it's still a great show.
Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Most insane and hilarious show I've ever seen.
24 - I was hooked on this show for a while, which hasn't happened to me in years. It's one of the only shows I actually care too much about, and the only thing that makes me look forward to mondays.
The Simpsons - I've been watching it for most of my life, even though recent seasons haven't been so great.
Stargate Universe - Because I'm a sucker for science fiction. I don't think SGU is as good as it could have been, but it's still pretty good.
Yeah, that's about it.
The Ascent of Money - Britsh TV Channel 4
Prof Niall Ferguson gives a facinating historical insight into all things financial, yeah I know that sounds boring bit its really not, honest.
His blog is a good read http://www.niallferguson.com
I know you said to explain why about each show, but a lot of others didn't so.. and I don't really think it's necessary. If you don't like whatever show someone lists you probably know what the show is about already.
LOST
The Office
House
Family Guy
tosh.0
South Park
I don't necessarily hate a lot of shows, it's just hard to juggle them all at once. I'm probably not watching 5+ amazing ones atm, but I'll get to them eventually.
30 Rock - Please marry me Tina Fey!
The Office - The UK Version
Daria - The show was awesome
Neon Genesis Evangelion - Oh Shinji you sick fuck...
Cowboy Bebop - Spike...NOOOOOO!
Simpsons, South Park, American Dad, Family Guy, Futurama - Animation
The Venture Bros - They keep getting better!
Special props to season 1 of Heroes.
i don't watch much TV at all anymore. i wouldn't say Anime is a TV series.. since i don't even watch it on TV.
my favorite show would have to be Seinfeld. seriously, that show is fucking gold. The Office is really great, too. and any Canadians know Trailer Park Boys. god that show is so damn insane and funny
By and far my favorite American show of all time has to be Oz
It was something so original and in-your-face and nothing on TV at the time could come close to comparing. No topic was too risque for it to handle. O'Reily and Beecher are two of the greatest television characters ever. The one thing I found kinda cool but weird is that nearly the entire cast of Oz has made appearances on Law & Order at some point.
Other than that, South Park still gives me a good laugh with it's form of satire.
Oh and Firefly. Fuck you, Fox. "Can't believe it took this long for someone to say Firefly.
Most of the ones I like have already been said but:
Battlestar galactica
Six feet under (my favourite of all time)
How I met your mother
Scrubs
Pushing Daisies
Doctor Who (I've only seen the new series)
Californication is by far my favourite TV series... I think it captures the conflicts of the "modern man" rolemodel, perfectly! Just f'ing brilliant!
Another show I recently started to watch but really is enjoying is "Mad Men". Everything in that show is just excecuted perfectly, no wonder it's pulling alot of awards....
And of course there is The daily show, South Park, Futurama, Family Guy and all that funny buisness!
Oh, and Flight of the Conchords of course!
I loved Animaniacs as a kid, and now that I watch it again as a much older person, I realize that the show is pure genius. Steven Spielberg should get back to producing cartoons, the kids of today would be better off.
- 30 Rock
- Burn Notice
- Deadwood
- Babylon 5
- Battlestar Galactica (new)
- The Tudors
Think that's about it as "favorites". Deadwood is perhaps my very top. God I loved that show. It was so, so good. If you don't mind a show that's brutal, vulgar, and racist at times (all in context of the setting and time period of course) it is absolutely brilliant.
