Honestly, who is really going to aim for killing 100,000 players?

Single player + co-op + ALL multplayer modes + Horde = Anyone who plays gears2 for 3-4 months will have a good chance of getting it

I will do whatever it takes to get the 1000 G in Gears 2. Horde Mode will make it easier to get.

Wish they would have stuck to multiplayer ranked matches only tbh like in the original. Seems this will be easier to get if it counts stuff like single-player =/

The achievement won't be that hard to get.  Just play all the modes.  If you really love the game you won't stop playing SP, multiplayer, Horde, etc.

It isn't that crazy. It is something you will just ear over time. Probably a couple months.

I got 76 thousand kills in Halo 2 online. I don't see how killing 100 k could be difficult assuming it counts SP and horde.

lol, Does anybody have 100,000 kills in gears 1? Theres no way. Funny that you thought that. 

I'm a little mad though, because I was really looking forward to getting 10,000 kills.

Bear in mind that the Single player can have over 200 enemies onscreen at once, so that should help. It's not like you're killing 5 enemies at a time as you slog through a series of corridors, it's using a turret to mow down advancing ground troops several stories below you.

Is there a way to check your progress of the Achievement in the game. As in how many kills you have total?

Yeah - from the main menu, just go to your Journal and then you can see details about that sort of thing.  Not to mention that when you reach certain milestones in achievements, a little pop-up window appears in the lower right corner of the screen notifying you of your progress.  For instance, when you reach the first 100 kills out of Seriously 2.0, you get a progress bar.  It's the same for the rest of the achievements, too."

right now I am half way through 
I killed almost 50,000 enemies even though I am only  playing this game for roughly 2 weeks .

As a teenager with not a lot of money i think ill play it enough to get it.

If that was in Halo, sure.  You shoudl average about 20 kills per game, so that's about 5000 games- the campaign (which is minus quite a bit).
But even that's a large amount.

Gears of War doesn't have a good enough mp to warrant that achievement imo

I imagine I'm only about halfway through the campaign, and I'm already up to 800. Between all the various modes and the fact that it keeps adding the kills up even if you die and retry an area, I don't think it'll be too hard or time consuming. Oh wait, 100,000? I thought it was 10,000. Okay then, looks like I'll probably never be getting it....

Today I played through about 1/3rd of the campaign (with a friend) and did about 15 waves of Horde. That netted each of us about 300-400 kills.I know I wont be getting that achievement since it's not my 360...

It's going to be easy. Just play Horde a lot. That's the fastest way. I got 1200 the first day I bought the game.

100,000 isn't too bad, there are heaps of enemies right near the end of the game, mixed with the rest of the campaign, online (horde etc), its definitly getable.

most people have said that you can get it just by playing the last level of the campaign over and over
it must be like that demo level where theres loads of enemies running around

I hate to break this to you guys...but this simply isn't the case.  I think the most enemies I ever saw on-screen at once was around 15, and that was in special sequences that I won't spoil. 

Running through the campaign once netted me about 1,000 kills."
