GT5's reviews on Metacritic have been taken off for some time.

Do you think this is concerning?
What do you think were the reasons behind it?
I find it suspicious.
Gran Turismo 5
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Nov 24, 2010
Gran Turismo 5 is the fifth edition in the long running racing game series by Polyphony Digital. The game sports over 1000 vehicles, damage modeling on race cars, a dedicated television channel, lots of races, 16 player online multiplayer, and active weather.
Looks like GT5's score on Metacritic won't change very soon...
Wait....are you telling me that companies might have their hands in some companies (turning them into catalogs really) to get reviewed favorably so that way their games sell better?
EDIT BTW all of metacritic game reviews are like that, at least looking at brotherhood and Blops.
" Wait....are you telling me that companies might have their hands in some companies (turning them into catalogs really) to get reviewed favorably so that way their games sell better? "hahah I don't think sony needs any help selling Gt5. its already sold 3.5million.
" Wait....are you telling me that companies might have their hands in some companies (turning them into catalogs really) to get reviewed favorably so that way their games sell better? "GT5 has been scoring the same as GT4, I don't think scores matter for games like GT. The same can be said for Pokeman, Halo, and a few others.
I'm pretty sure Metacritic is just broken right now. Plenty of games/movies/albums have 0 reviews now for whatever reason.
On a related note, ever since Metacritic switched to its current format, it has gone from a useful, fast website to a slow, broken piece of shit.
Well first off, I wasn't really saying Sony did anything. I was just kind of making fun of the TC's psuedo-conspiracy thread.
Second off, no...Gran Turismo 4 scored better than GT5 did.
I'm concerned that the thought process here was "something suspicious is going on here, I should go post somewhere about it", rather than "that's weird. I should check some other games. Oh, they don'thave any scores either"
" Who cares? "The only people who should care are people who put money into the game and want to see returns, i could see why they would.
As for people who had nothing to do with a game i don't see why anyone would care unless it's a fanboy but then again since i was a kid i never cared about reviews i just cared about fun games, same with music and movies.
Flop of the year. It's also 84% on gamerankings.
The score is back on there and ppl could easily use gamerankings instead.
" @Ursus_Veritas: when you compare that to forza 3 at 92%, you can call it a flop. "That 8% difference probably stands out to fanboys and no one else. Is the average person looking to buy themselves a copy of GT5 going to care if some other racing game scored 8% higher than it? If the gap was considerably bigger, maybe... but 8% is almost nothing to most people, and the 84% GT5 is currently at is still a great score. I think you're overreacting just a little bit.
Most games are in the 81-92% area, you have to think if it's a low AA, mid AA or high AA game. I rarely play games that are below 80%. 90% is so difficult to get, yet 84% is inexcusable.
game ranking scale in today's standards
60% = putrid, would not play even if somebody paid me to do so
70% = mediocre, rental for a few days only or pirate it first
80% = average, only genre fans should apply
90% = above average, but there are some notable flaws!
95% = good, but there is something missing I cannot quite put my finger on...
100% = free copies! there it is! Were they receptive to our interview requests, provided access?
While I'd normally agree, considering the massive development time and massive amounts of hype.. It's definitely a disappointing score." @HitmanAgent47 said:

GT5 was always going to sell based on hype alone, even I was suckered into ordering the game near enough at the last minute when friends kept telling me how amazing it was going to be. And while I enjoyed the game, it's far from being the best racing game released even this generation and I'll definitely be holding off when GT6 finally rolls around. The bad scores and reception won't hurt GT5 but they may hurt the brand in the long run.
