    Analysis

Grand Theft Auto IV is an open world action-adventure shooter where your decisions decide your friends and your enemies.  Throughout the game you make decisions that determine whether certain characters live or die.  Ultimately there are only two different endings to the story but throughout the story you get to choose what happens to an extent. The game is played in a third person point of view but when shooting it moves to an over the shoulder view.

    Interpretation

GTA IV is an alright game with good graphics and an decent story line.  I feel like the story line has been done before just with different characters and such.  The gameplay is good, between the graphics and the physics of the game it is good but not great.  There isn't much customization to the game though and that is an issue because a hug part of Role PLaying Games is customization.  You don't get to customize your guns or anything but you do get to choose from a limited selection of clothes for your character that look weird no matter what clothes he has on.

    Judgement and Evaluation

GTA IV when you it comes down to it is an alright game.  It is not the worst game i have ever played but it is certainly not the best.  The gameplay is mediocre and the story line is repetitive.  Almost all of the missions in the game you have to go and kill someone.  Where in the other grand theft autos there were a variety of different missions such as flying a RC Helicopter with bombs attached to it to blow up a building.  The missions in GTA IV just ended up being repetitive and annoying.  Also if you did not use cheat codes to get weapons i do not know how you would survive against 15 gang members with huge assault rifles.

To live again in Liberty City... (TLAD) 0

It’s a bit weird how this generation has introduced the inclusion of downloadable content, as on the one hand it theoretically allows games to be expanded in fantastic ways, but on the other hand companies like Namco Bandai and Electronic Arts have made DLC rear its ugly head. Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and Damned not only proves a good justification for the existence of DLC, but also expands on the idea of what DLC can really do and sets a lead that all other developers and publishers should fo...

The Lost and Damned is a download available on the Xbox Live Marketplace, PSN, and for download for PC for $20, respectively.  The expansion, while still being an expansion, is an entirely new game with new characters, story, weapons, vehicles, activities, and multiplayer modes.  While there are no new areas to explore, TLAD features the Rockstar brand of storytelling that everyone has come to know and love.
