Gym Leader

Overview

Pokémon Gym Leaders reign the world of the Pokémon Universe. A Gym Leader's main purpose is to physically and mentally test the up and coming Pokémon Trainers screening through their region to prepare their score with the Pokémon League's Elite Four and the current Pokemon Master of the region fixed in the position of Pokémon Champion.

Spin-off games appropriate their 'bosses' as only Leaders.

• Pokemon XD has a Pre-Gym with a leader, but there is no badge to give.
• The only two Gym Leaders not to give you your badge directly after defeating them are Clair and Whitney, usually after putting up challenging battles.
