Horse Armour was made famous by The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, in which Horse Armour was paid DLC, costing 200 Microsoft points, or $2.50. The DLC received widespread criticism for offering no enhancement to gameplay, but only serving as a cosmetic improvement.
