E3 2011 - Konami Press Conference Discussion
For 2011? A big fat ZERO. But I'm merciful and give 'em the 1 out of 10 rating. Closest thing to a sale is MGS Peace Walker on PSN for PS3 - but I quite certainly won't have time to spare for something as trivial as that with 2011 being chock-full with much hotter games. At least for my sensibilities.
I say Konami is on its deathbed. They barely produce anything new at this time and are going for high profitability/low risk releases. That's what HD remake collections are. They barely have enough dough to take a proper shot at the AAA market and outside of MGS and Silent Hill, no proven modern franchise to warrant taking such a risk. I feel like core MGS is getting very tired and needs to cool-off some.
I'm really fucking sad that I can't be excited over a new Contra game. Buying Super Contra with a SNES was my first own gaming purchase. I should be over the moon. That's a fucking loss right there.
Spoiler alert, duders. "Transfarring" is a copyrightable word, transferring isn't. Though the word is still goofy as fuck.
Also. Kojima claiming to have come up with the idea made me laugh.
I'm not going to lie, I'm kinda excited about those HD collections. If it's not the Sub edition I'm not buying.
They can easily make the Sub editions as the HD editions. If it's just the original version, fuck that shit. I got my Sub editions for MGS2 and MGS3.
I wanna collectively punch every being in that annoying transfarring skit. It's good to see American "comedy" is still fucking awful.
@HaltIamReptar said:Independent of that, Kojima straight faced declared that he came up with the idea. Not the application, no. The fucking concept.Kojima claiming to have come up with the idea made me laugh. It's funny because Capcom beat him to it with MHP3 HD.

ZOE2 is really fast, without spoiling you get an ability to move as fast as light in short bursts...its a gameplay ability too. The action is really fast too and not-clunky. These are like the Gundams in Gundam Wing/Gundam 00 but better looking (debateable). As someone who hasn't played any mech games what does that even mean?
It's like you're in a god mech and you're always fighting to the bitter end in very fast combat. The story is okay, I mean...it's a Kojima story but the gameplay is fan-fucking-tastic.

It means big robots with big laser swords.@KaosAngel said:

And that band is... Megadeth.
I'm just glad my friend talked me out of going to Konami's viewing party in Toronto. It would've been awful, and not in a funny way. Just all the way awful. But that band is still Megadeth, so I guess all is well.
@TurboMan said:No, he didn't. Read Unreal Engine 3. Why wasn't this conference just held off for the last day of E3 when no one would be let down?Uh dude...next-gen engine and the ability to transfarr between handheld and console? Kojima created that.Holy shit this company has no creative vision what-so-ever.

The ability to transfer between handheld and console isn't new and there are several other PSP and NGP games that do the same thing.
