I know its co-developed with Rockstar so not really a 'Rockstar Game' foresay but I just wish they would be a bit more adventurous. I was truly expecting some amazing visuals not the plastic rubbish you always get with GTA.
Is free roam city always necessary for a game? I was expecting more of a heavy rain than a GTA but instead I got a GTA with some adventure elements on the side. Heavy Rain was certainly one of the first games to properly incorporate mocap and the truth / lieing thing is brilliant concept but as said, I truly wish they would just think 'outside the sandbox.'

L.A. Noire is a detective thriller developed by Team Bondi in Australia and published by Rockstar Games.
It's fun but its still only a fancy GTA Mod
calling it lacking in the action department, is OK
Christ. Get your Shadow the Hedgehog avatar and incorrect analysis out of here. This game is not a carbon copy of GTA in any way except that it has a Rockstar logo on it and it's in a open world format that just happens to be situated within a city.
I reject any comparisons between L.A. Noire and GTA. The open world in this game allows players to explore a vintage 40s Los Angeles, a world that the developers were obviously proud of recreating. The game wouldn't be as interesting in my mind if all the location switching was done in cutscenes or loading screens.
If you played the game for just five minutes, you would know this game is anything but a GTA mod. I'm getting tired of this shit, even if it is flame-bait.
Red Dead Redemption is clearly a game running on the GTA engine and formula.
PROTIP: Anyone who identifies with Shadow the Hedgehog, even ironically, is never to be trusted. Ever.
Other than the open world factor (which still is vastly different) it pretty much has nothing in common with GTA.
Usually I'm cool with letting someone express their opinion, but you are just plain wrong in this case.
Well obviously people won't be happy but GTA does get over hyped and heck it is nice that we Brits make the game people love so much but at the same time I think - hmm... its GTA so it must be given at least a 9 or 9.5 because reviews seem to just bum it. Even if nothing that new is brought to the table. Same thing with the hardcore Call of Duty fan base.
I have played quite a bit of LA Noire for all those interested. I am on my 3rd Homicide case which I think is around 30% on statistics. I am finding seeing who I find familiar from the cast more exciting than the game from time to time - bit of a heroes vibe going on from what I have seen so far.
The open world sets a great atmosphere.
The open world sets a great atmosphere. No this is like comparing GTA4 with GTA: LA Noire :PHowever, I think your statement generalizes this game too much. L.A. Noire shares little resemblance to GTA other than how the cutscenes are directed and the fact the game has an large environment. It's kind of like comparing Final Fantasy and Pokemon.
@ShadowDoGG The game is nothing like GTA, I for one wasn't interested in the game because I thought it would be another GTA style game (see: Red Dead Redemtion) but I was pleasantly surprised. Also, isn't the game Australian, not British?@ShadowDoGG said:

I accept other peoples opinions, likes and dislikes, but this statement is just plain wrong, they barely share ANYTHING similar, there's no two bones about it.
@HatKing: Are people so seriously shallow on this website that they see one thing then think another? (Seemingly so)Sorry, what was that Shaydough the illiterate grief hog? Did you say something or did you just fart?
Why does it always seem like people think GTA is just a game where you steal a car, run over people, shoot cops and try to get 5 stars ? While I'm sure people play it that way, that's not what the newer GTAs are about at all. If you ask me I think it's pretty damn clear that LA Noire could've easily just been an indie mod of GTA4, except for the production value of mo-cap and casting ofc. Seems like a lot of the people in here are under-estimating what a mod can accomplish.
Foresay is not a word, but I wouldn't be surprised you didn't know that seeming the amount of retarded this post is.I know its co-developed with Rockstar so not really a 'Rockstar Game' foresay but I just wish they would be a bit more adventurous. @NekuSakuraba said:He's referring to the fact that L.A. Noire is an Australian game, we all know where GTA is made (They're Scottish anyway). You generalizing it as a GTA mod is what is causing that confusion. Its not even running on Rockstar's RAGE engine, couple that with the fact that its focused more on investigation and questioning than senseless violence and humor based on stereotypes. You can't even pull out a gun if the game doesn't require it. Its more Phoenix Wright than GTA.@ShadowDoGG The game is nothing like GTA, I for one wasn't interested in the game because I thought it would be another GTA style game (see: Red Dead Redemtion) but I was pleasantly surprised. I don't even have the game and I know you're categorizing it incorrectly on purpose. I don't care if you're trying to make a point or not, you're still talking out of your behind.
