As if the nerd appeal of Mass Effect 2 weren't already burying the needle, today BioWare shed some more light on the game's voice cast, which is basically a murderer's row of sci-fi regulars and dependable character actors. Keith David (Men at Work, the second Westside Connection album) and Seth Green (Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch: Make My Video, Old Dogs), whose characters return from the first game, are joined by Martin Sheen ( Apocalypse Now, Spawn), Shohreh Aghdashloo ("FlashForward", The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2), Yvonne Strahovski ("Chuck"), Adam Baldwin ("Firefly", My Bodyguard), Michael Dorn (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”, Saints Row 2), Tricia Helfer (“Battlestar Galactica”, Halo 3: ODST), Michael Hogan (“Battlestar Galactica”), and Carrie-Anne Moss ( The Matrix, "Models Inc").

That's a pretty solid cast, most of whom already have a fair amount of voice-over experience, but really, we're just happy that Keith David is back. Vinny points out that this video is basically the cast of Mass Effect 2. Also, Keith David's finest work. Enjoy.

Men at Work is FAR from Keith David's best work. They Live, on the other hand....now that's quality.

They only character not voiced by a big name celebrity is: Shepard!

Its great to see more and more game companies ponying up the cash for professional voice actors...it just makes the experience that much more engrossing...hire the pros!...now if the movie studios making video games based on films could only figure this out and hire great devs to stop making terrible tie ins...Avatar anyone? :/

They're not professional voice actors, they're professional screen actors. There's a huge difference. And you can have unkown actors as great voice actors. See The Incredibles, Up etc. :) "

They're not professional voice actors, they're professional screen actors. There's a huge difference. And you can have unkown actors as great voice actors. See The Incredibles, Up etc. :) "

I could watch that fight sequence for the rest of my life. It's criminal that They Live still hasn't seen an Australian release on DVD.

Putting famous screen actors / celebrities in games annoys me, I seem unable to connect them to their character and just keep thinking of them as themselves or whatever role they're famous for.  Doesn't happen with game voice talent though, so here's hoping the lovely Jennifer Hale is back.
