In a recent interview with PopCap's Garth Chouteau, it was revealed that the company expressed an interest in porting the title to other consoles, listing the iPhone as a major possibility. He did not reveal which console or consoles the game would be ported to in the event that this actually occur, however.
On July 24th PopCap announced Plants vs Zombies to be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade, sometime soon.
The goal, like tower defense, is to prevent the zombies from reaching the other end of the map. Each row has a lawnmower at the end of it; if a zombie touches this, the lawnmower will move across the map, killing any zombies in that row. However, this will then leave the row open at the end, and if a zombie crosses an undefended row, the player loses.
After ten levels, the game will turn from day to night, requiring different strategies and unlocking a series of plants that only work at night. After that, the zombies make an attempt on your backyard, where you have a pool that spans the length of the level, requiring completely different plants to defend. This will then turn to night introducing a blanket of fog that hides a portion of the level from the player. The final set of levels has the player fighting zombies on the roof of her house.
Some levels in the game's Adventure Mode do not use the basic offensive and defensive building with the Sun economy. These levels instead have a scrolling bar at the top of the screen where different plants appear. The player then simply takes the card and plants it whenever he or she chooses, without having to use the economic portion of the game. However, the unpredictability of the scrolling bar tends to make these levels more hectic than usual.
Other modes and levels change the game mechanics entirely, presenting the player with bowling levels, variations on Popcap favorites such as Bejeweled, or switching focus to play the zombies.
Peashooter: Are your first line of defense. They shoot peas at attacking zombies .Bio: How can a single plant grow and shoot peas so quickly? Peashooter says," Hard work, commitment , and a healthy well- balanced break-fast of sunlight and high- fiber carbon dioxide make it all possible."
Sunflower: Are essential for you to produce extra sun. Try planting as many as you can! Bio: Sunflower can't resist bouncing to the beat. Which beat is that? Why, the life giving jazzy rhythm of the Earth itself, thumping at a frequency only a sunflower can hear.
Cherry Bomb: A one-time use weapon that will blast the zombies on whatever square it's planted on as well as the adjacent squares. Bio: "I wanna explode," says Cherry #1. "No, let's detonate instead!" says his brother, Cherry #2. After intense consulation, they decide to explodonate.
Wall-nut: Plant this in front of anything you want to protect. The Wall-nut takes a great deal of damage before getting destroyed, allowing you to damage tougher zombies without risking your critical attack pieces. Bio: "People wonder how I feel about getting constantly chewed on by zombies," says Wall-nut. "What they don't realize is that with my limited senses all I can feel is a kind of tingling, like a relaxing backrub."
Potato Mine: This inexpensive fellow takes awhile to activate after being planted, but once he does, he'll blow up any zombie that steps on him, dealing instant death to all but the strongest units. Bio: Some folks say that Potato Mine is lazy, that he leaves everything to the last minute. Potato Mine says nothing, he's too busy thinking about his investment strategy.
Snow Pea: A close relative to the Peashooter, this plant fires ice peas that freeze whatever zombie it hits, greatly slowing their forward progress. Bio: Folks often tell Snow Pea how "cool" he is or exhort him to "chill out." They tell him to "Stay frosty." Snow Pea just rolls his eyes. He's heard 'em all.
Chomper: Chompers devour normal-sized zombies in one bite, but take plenty of time to chew their food at which point they are completely defenseless. They can attack one square ahead of them, so they do best planted behind another unit. Bio: Chomper almost got a gig doing stunts in Little Shop of Horrors, but it fell through when his agent demanded too much on the front end. Chomper's not resentful, though. He says it's just part of the business.
Repeater: Another close relative of the Peashooter, but this one shoots two peas at once. Also: it looks a touch more grouchy. Bio: Repeater is fierce. He's from the streets. He doesn't take attitude from anybody, plant or zombie, and he shoots peas to keep people at a distance. Secretly, though, Repeater yearns for love.
Puff-shroom: The weakest of the mushrooms and the first firing unit with limited range (three squares), this little unit makes up for it by being free and recharging quickly. Bio: "I only recently became aware of the existence of zombies," says Puff-Shroom. "Like many fungi, I'd just assumed they were fairy tales or movie monsters. This whole experience has been a huge eye-opener for me."
Sun-shroom: This analog to the Sunflower is less expensive, but starts out small, producing only 15 sun units until they grow to full size and produce 25. Bio: Sun-shroom hates sun. He hates it so much that when it builds up in his system, he spits it out as fast as he can. He just won't abide it. To him, sun is crass.
Fume-shroom: Fires a burst of spores that passes through screen doors that zombies carry for defense. Bio: "I was in a dead end job producing yeast spores for a bakery," says Fume-Shroom. "Then Puff-shroom, bless 'im, told me about this great opportunity blasting zombies. Now I really feel like I'm making a difference.
Grave Buster: Single use items that consumes a grave. Graves serve as spawn points for zombies. Bio: Despite Grave Buster;s fearsome appearance, he wants everyone to know that he loves kittens and spends his off hours volunteering at a local zombie rehabilitation center. "It's just the right thing to do," he says.
Hypno-shroom: When eaten causes the eating zombie to turn around and fight for the player. Can only be consumed once. Bio: "Zombies are our friends," assers Hypno-shroom. "They're badly misunderstood creatures who play a valuable role in our ecology. We can and should do more to bring them round our way of thinking."
Scaredy-shroom: Fires spores at long ranges but hides if zombies come too close. Bio: "Who's there?" whispers Scaredy-shroom, voice barely audible. "Go away. I don't want to see anybody. Unless it's tha man from the circus."
Ice shroom: Temporarily freezes all zombies on the screen. The ice-shroom dissappears after applying the freezing effect. Bio: Ice-shroom frowns, not because he's unhappy or because he disapproves, but because of a childhood injury that elft his facial nerves paralyzed.
Doom shroom: Destroys all zombies in a large area and leaves a crater. The crater cannot be planted on but eventually disappears. Bio: "You're lucky I'm on your side," says Doom-shroom. "I could destroy everything you hold dear. It wouldn't be hard."
Lily Pad: Lily pads let you plant non-aquatic plants on top of them. Bio: Lily Pad never complains. Lily Pad never wants to know what's going on. Put a plant on top of Lily Pad, he won't say a thing. Does he have a startling opinions or shocking secrets? Nobody knows. Lily Pad keeps it all inside.
Squash: Squashes will smash the first zombie that gets close to it. Bio: "I'm ready!" yells Squash. "Let's do it! Put me in! There's nobody better! I'm your guy! C'mon! Whaddya waiting for? I need this!"
Threepeater: Threepeater shoots peas in three lanes. Bio: Threepeater likes reading, backgammon and long periods of immobility in the park. Threepeater enjoys going to shows, particularly modern jazz. "I'm just looking for that special someone," he says. Threepeater's favorite number is 5.
Tangle Kelp: Tangle Kelp are aquatic plants that pull the first zombie that nears them underwater. Bio: "I'm totally invisible," Tang;e Kelp thinks to himself. "I;ll hide here just below the surface and nobody will see me." His friends tell him they can see him perfectly well, but he'll never change.
Jalapeno: Jalapenos destroy an entire lane of zombies. Bio: "NNNNNNNGGGGG!!!!!!" Jalapeno says. He's not going to explode, not this time, but soon. Oh, so soon. It's close. He knows it. he can feel it, his whole life's been leading up to this moment.
Spikeweed: Spikeweeds pop tires and hurt any zombies that step on them. Bio: HOkey is Spikeweed's obsession. He's got box seat season tickets. He keeps close track of his favorite players. And he consistently cleans up in the office hockey pool. Just one problem: he's terrified of pucks.
Torchwood: Torchwoods turn peas that pass through them into fireballs that deal twice as much damage. Bio: Everybody likes and respects Torchwood. They like him for his integrity, for his steadfast friendship, for his ability to greatly maximize pea damage. But Torchwood has a secret: he can't read.
Tall-nut: Tall-nuts are heavy-duty wall plants that can't be vaulted over. Bio: People wonder if there's a rivalry between Wall-nut and Tall-nut. Tall-nut laughs a raich, baritone laugh. "How could there be anything between us? We are brothers. If you knew what Wall-nut has done for me..." Tall-nut's voice trails off and he smiles knowingly.
Sea-shroom: Sea-shrooms are aquatic plants that shoot short range spores. Bio: Sea-shroom has never seen the sea. It's in his name, he's heard loads baout it, but he's just never found the time. One day, though it'll go down.
Plantern: Planterns light up an area, letting you see through fog. Bio: Plantern defies science. He just does. Other plants eat light and excrete oxygen. Planter eats darkness and excretes light. Planter's cagey about how he does it. "I'm not gonna say 'sorcery,' I wouldn't use the term 'dark forces.' I just... I think I've said enough."
Cactus: Cactuses shoot spikes that can hit both ground and air targets. Bio: She's prickly, sure, but Cactus' spikes belie a spongy heart filled with love and goodwill. She just wants to hug and be hugged. Most folks cna't hang with that, but Cactus doesn't mind. She's been seeing an armadillo for a while and it really seems to be working out.
Blover: Blovers blow away all balloon zombies and fog. Bio: When Blover was five he got a shiny new birthday cake. Blover made his wish, huffed and puffed, but was able to extinguish only 60% of the candles. Instead of giving up, though, he's used that early defeat as a catalyst to push himself harder ever since.
Split Pea: Split Peas shoot peas forward and backwards. Bio: "Yeah, I'm a Gemini," says Split Pea. "I know, big surprise. But having two heads --or really, one head with a large head-like growth on the back-- pays off big in my line of work."
Starfruit: Starfruits shoot stars in 5 directions. Bio: "Aw, man," says Starfruit. "I went to the dentist the other day and he said I have four cavities. I've got --count it-- ONE tooth! Four cavities in one tooth? How does this happen?"
Pumpkin: Pumpkins protect plants that are within their shells. Bio: Pumpkin hasn't heard from his cousin Renfield lately. Apparently Renfield's a big star, some kind of... what was it.. sports hero? Peggle Master? Pumpkin doesn't really get it. He just does his job.
Magnet-shroom: Magnet-shrooms remove helmets and other metal objects from zombies. Bio: Magnetism is a powerful force. Very powerful. Sometimes it scares Magnet-shroom a little. He's not sure if he can handle that kind of responsibility.
Cabbage-pult: Cabbage-pult hurls cabbages at the enemy. Bio: Cabbage-pult is okay with launching cabbages at zombies. It's what he's paid for, after all, and he's good at it. He just doesn't understand how the zombies get up on the roof in the first place.
Flower Pot: Flower Pots let you plant on the roof. Bio: "I'm a pot for planting. Yet I'm also a plant. HAS YOUR MIND EXPLODED YET!?"
Kernel-pult: Kernel-pult flings corn kernels and butter at zombies Bio: Kernel-pult is the eldest of the Pult brothers. Of the three of the, Kernel is the only one who consistently remembers the other's birthdays. He bugs them about it a little, too.
Coffee Bean: Use Coffee Beans to wake up sleeping mushrooms. Bio: "Hey, guys, hey!" says Coffee Bean. "Hey! What's up? Who's that? Hey! Didja see that thing? What thing? Whoa! Lions!" Yep, Coffee BEan sure does get excited.
Garlic: Garlic diverts zombies into other lanes. Bio: Lane-diversion isn't just Garlic's profession. It's his passion. He carries an advanced Doctorate in Redirection from the Brussels University. He'll talk all day about lane vectors and repulse arrays. He even pushes things into alternate avenues at home. Somehow his wife puts up with it.
Umbrella Leaf: Umbrella Leaves protect nearby plants from bungees and catapults. Bio: "SPROING!" says Umbrella Leaf. "Dija like that? I can do it again: SPROING! Woo! That's me popping up to protect stuff araround me. Yeah. Just like that. EXACTLY like that. Believe it."
Marigold: Marigolds give you silver and gold coins. Bio: Marigold spends a lot of time deciding whether to spit out a silver coin or a gold one. She thinks about it, weighs the angles. She does solid research and keeps up with current publications. That's how winners stay ahead.
Melon-pult: Melon-pults do heavy damage to groups of zombies. Bio: There's no false modesty with Melon-pult. "Sun-for-damage, I deliver the biggest punch on the lawn," he says. "I'm not bragging. Run the numbers. You'll see."
Zombies
Zombie: Regular Garden-variety Zombie Bio: This zombie loves brains. Can't get enough. Brains, brains, brains, day in and night out. Old and stinky brains? Rotten brains? Brains clearly past their prime? Doesn't matter. Regular zombie wants 'em.
Flag Zombie: Flag Zombies marks the arrival of a huge pile or "wave" of zombies. Bio: Make no mistake, Flag Zombie loves rains. But somewhere down the line he also picked up a fascination with flags. Maybe it's because the flags always have brains on them. Hard to say.
Conehead Zombie: His traffic cone headpiece makes him twice as tough as normal zombies. Bio: Conehead Zombie shuffled mindlessly forward like every other zombie. But somethin made him stop, made him pick up a traffic cone and stick it on his head. Oh yeah, he like to party.
Pole vaulting Zombie: Pole Vaulting Zombie vaults with a pole. Bio: Some zombies take it further, aspire more, push themselves beyond the normal into greatness. That's Pole Vaulting Zombie right there. That is so him.
Buckethead Zombie: His bucket hat makes him extremely resistant to damage. Bio: Buckethead Zombie always wore a bucket. Part of it was to assert his uniqueness in an inucaring world. Mostly he just forgot it was there in the first place.
Newspaper Zombie: His newspaper provides limited defense. Bio: Newspaper Zombie was *this* close to finishing his sudoku puzzle. No wonder he's freaking out.
Screen Door Zombie: His screen door is an effective shield. Bio: Hegot his screen door from the last inexpertly defended home he visited, after he ATE THE HOMEOWNER'S BRAINS.
Football Zombie: Football Zombie makes the big plays. Bio: Football Zombie gives 1100 percent whenever he's on the field. He's a team player who delivers both offensively and defensively. He has no idea what a football is.
Dancing Zombie: Any resemblance between Dancing Zombie and person living or dead is purely coincidental. Bio: Dancing Zombie's latest album, "GrarrBRAINSarblarblbl," is already rocketing up the undead charts.
Backup Dancer: These zombies appear in sets of four whenever Dancing Zombie rocks out. Bio: Backup Dancer Zombie spent his six years perfecting his art at the Chewliar Performing Arts School in Zombie New York City.
Ducky Tube Zombie: The ducky tube allows this zombie to float on water. Bio: It takes a certain kind of zombie to be a Ducky Tuber. Not every zombie can handle it. Some crack. They can't take it. THey walk away and give up on brains forever.
Snorkel Zombie: Snorkel zombies can swim underwater. Bio: Zombies don't breathe. They don't need air. So why does Snorkel Zombie need a snorkel to swim underwater? Answer: peer pressure.
Zomboni: The Zomboni applies ice, steam and pressure to your plants. Bio: Often mistaken for a zombie driving an ice machine, the Zomboni is a totally different life-form more closely related to a space ogre than a zombie.
Zombie Bobsled Team: These zombies appear in teams of four. Bio: Zombie BObsled Team worked hard to get where they are. They live together, eat brains together and train together to become a cohesive zombie unit.
Dolphin Rider Zombie: Dolphin RIder Zombies use dolphins to exploit weaknesses in your pool defense. Bio: The Dolphin is also a zombie.
Jack-in-the-Box Zombie: This zombie carries an explosive surprise. Bio: This zombie shivers, not because he's cold but because he's crazy.
Balloon Zombie: Balloon Zombie floats above the fray, immune to most attacks. Bio: Balloon Zombie really lucked out. The balloon thing really works and none of the other zombies have picked up on it.
Digger Zombie: This zombie digs to bypass your defenses. Bio: Digger Zombie spends three days a week getting his excavation permits in order.
Pogo Zombie: Pogo Zombie hops to bypass your defenses. Bio: Sproing! Sproing! Sproing! That's the sound of a powerful and effective zombie doing what he does best.
Bungee Zombie: Bungee Zombie attacks from above. Bio: Bungee Zombie loves to take risks. After all, what's the point of being dead if you won't live a little.
Ladder Zombie: Ladder Zombie climbs over obstacles. Bio: He picked up the ladder up for $8.99
Catapult Zombie: Catapult Zombie operates heavy machinery. Bio: Of all the things Catapult Zombie could launch with his catapult, basketballs seemed like the best and most obvious choice.

Gargantuan: Gargantuan is a gigantic zombie. Bio: When a Gargantuan walks, the earth trembles. When he moans, other zombies fall silent. He is the zombie other zombies dream they could be. But he still can't find a girlfriend.
Imp: Imps are tiny zombies hurled by Gargantuan deep into your defenses. Bio: Imp may be small, but he's wiry. He's proficient in zombie judo, zombie karate and zombie bare-knuckle brawling. He alo plays the melodica.
The complete list of mini games is:
Store:
In addition to earning Sun currency, which perishes at the end of a level, you will also earn regular cash by completing levels with lawnmowers still in place or by picking it up off of the occasional dead zombie. During the game's second chapter, a character named Crazy Dave will open his shop, Crazy Dave's Twiddydinkies. This allows the player to purchase extra items to make the game's demands a little easier on them. The most expensive items in the store are generally the extra seed slots, which allow you to bring more types of seeds (and therefore have a bigger variety of plants) in a given level. Other upgrades include upgraded versions of items that must be planted over existing plants; for example, planting an upgrade onto your Repeater plants will cause them to fire four shots at a time instead of two. The cheapest upgrades in the store are generally temporary; for $200, a rake can be purchased for the next three levels that will appear randomly on the map and kill the first zombie to step on it.
Zen-Garden:
Starts with two flowers that need to be tended. Additional plants are collected by playing mini-game, puzzle, and survival modes. All plants require regular watering and fertilizer to grow. These activities reward the player with small amounts of money and a larger amount if the plant reaches its full size. Once full-grown plants also require bug-spray and music to remain happy for a day. Doing so nets the player a fairly large reward. Apart from the standard Zen-Garden a mushroom garden, aquarium, and tree of life garden are also provided. The mushroom garden allows mushroom plant types to grow further and the aquarium does the same for aquatic plants. The tree of life grows as tree-food is placed upon it, handing out advice for every growth spurt.

Plants Vs. Zombies pits the two natural enemies against each other in PopCap's epic representation of this battle.
Overview:
Zombies are invading your hometown and the only way to stop them is using your supply of undead-killing plants. You get a variety of plants at your disposal including pea-shooters, cherry bombs, wall-nuts, and potato mines. Different kinds of zombies with unique properties attempt to cross the lawn and an arsenal of plants (49) needs to be deployed to stop them. The game has a resource mechanic in the form of sunshine that needs to be collected and spent on placing new plants and improvements. It works like a multi-column, tower defense game.In a recent interview with PopCap's Garth Chouteau, it was revealed that the company expressed an interest in porting the title to other consoles, listing the iPhone as a major possibility. He did not reveal which console or consoles the game would be ported to in the event that this actually occur, however.
On July 24th PopCap announced Plants vs Zombies to be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade, sometime soon.
Gameplay:
Essentially, Plants vs Zombies is a tower defense game. You save up a currency (solar energy, or Sun) to buy plants, place them on a grid, and wait for zombies to approach from off-screen. However, instead of a winding path taken by enemies, the zombies will file in through one of six "rows"; in other words, the game is entirely horizontal. The player has a variety of different options to choose from when setting up their garden. Sunflowers are essentially the economy, and planting them will harvest Suns to use for building other plants. A number of offensive plants help you thin out zombie numbers, while defensive structures will block off zombies, leaving them vulnerable while they attempt to break through the defensive line. Some items are instant-use and will not remain in your garden for any length of time; the Jalapeno pepper for example, will incinerate an entire row of enemies instantly, instead of being planted and used over time.

- Wall-nut bowling 1 & 2
- Slot Machine
- Its raining Seeds!
- Beghouled
- Invisi-ghoul

Puzzle Mode:
Upon completion of Adventure Mode, puzzle mode, as well as others, are unlocked. Puzzle mode include two different types of puzzles. The first requires the player to break open vases which can either include zombies or plants. The player must successfully break all of the vases and kill all of the zombies. There are 9 different finite levels and one endless. The second mode requires the player to play the role of the zombie and assault cardboard cutout plants. The objective is to break through the defenses and consume all 5 of the brains. This also includes 9 different finite levels and one endless.Survival Mode:
Survival mode setts the player up against multiple waves of zombies. The first five levels include each venue (Day, Night, Pool, Fog, Roof) and sends five waves of zombies. The second set of five levels include the same five venues and ten waves of zombies. The final level provides and endless wave of zombies.Store:
The cheapest upgrades in the store are generally temporary; for $200, a rake can be purchased for the next three levels that will appear randomly on the map and kill the first zombie to step on it.Zen-Garden:
The tree of life grows as tree-food is placed upon it, handing out advice for every growth spurt.System Requirements:
