The price alone is almost enough to push me into the "really want one" zone. Approaching this cautiously considering how the psp turned out, but I went from not interested to almost ready to buy over the course of the last hour.

If the UK gets a fair price conversion instead of getting the dollar-for-pound shafting we normally get, then this is an amazing price.

i was definitely expecting a $100 spike in price from what they announced and now I'm thinking of buying a playstation portable as opposed to the 3DS...but then there's Pokémon...ugh!

Add some taxes on that bad boy and it's 410 bucks here. Other than that I'm down for one, more than for a 3DS at least.

I'm surprised the Vita was only $250-300, that was pretty shocking. I was easily expecting $300-400, maybe even more. Still not gonna but it though, handhelds aren't my thing.

hell yeah,  as long as the battery seems reliable that will be a day 1 purchase for sure.

I'd be tempted to get this instead of a 3DS, but I'm sure there will be at least a few good games out for the 3DS by the time the PSV is released.

Hmm...current-gen hardware, Uncharted, PS3-cross support, multitouch, and dual joysticks...
or a 3D remake of Ocarina of Time?

Also remember, PS Vita may have reduced specs than when it was first announced, to lower its price to the current range. 

250$, and Uncharted sold me to it. Looks great and really offers the best of both world with this approach of play it like you want with either regular controls or touch/motion controls. Or a mixture of both.

When AT&T was mentioned, I yelled "Boo!!!" at my computer.  The computer sent me back an echo of some sort, as if I were screaming in a cave.  Sure enough, it wasn't an echo - it was the audience. Yup.

For $300, if they actually get the online fixed & hack free for a while, I'd rather get a PS3 than this silly named handheld.

I'm amazed by the low price. $350 for a machine that will have 3G capabilities AND play games that are graphically on par with high-end consoles? That's fucking INSANE, especially since most SMARTPHONES...which cannot do that...cost about $500 new.

The name is still terrible, though.

I was shocked by the price. I don't know when I will be buying my next portable system, but I do know which one I'll be choosing now.

Surprised that this price isn't really that bad quite fitting really, and of the stuff they showed at the conference, made me actually consider getting the Vita...at some point, but if the launch line is really great, then we shall see.

PSVita may have 3D yet, but has to be viewed with a standard TV compatible 3D glasses.

Great price point. Just one problem. I still don't see any good handheld games. I only play my DS and 3DS for about 20 to 40 minutes max. The games are made with that in mind for the most part. Most of the games for the PSV still would lack that quick handheld gameplay I want. Still not a bad line up though for sure. The Modnation Racers would be their Mario Kart, and the Street Fighter X Tekken is a good counterpart to the Super Street Fighter 4 for the 3DS. Still anything with shooting is not what I look for in a handheld. First and third person shooters are over saturated in the market and require bigger screens to see what you are shooting at. I could tell that during the uncharted demo he was having trouble hitting the enemies even with auto targeting and I could barley see the dude.

Also as someone who works in game retail if they don't show some more kid friendly games they will fail again. All I ever hear from people who sell their PSP is that for months they couldn't find a game for their daughter. Or their son want a easy game like Mario on their PSP but little big planet couldn't fill that space.

But this is just the opening for this new handheld so lets see if they add some more rtitles that are more fitting to handheld games.

$250, im there. but since AT&T seems to be buying T-Mobile, i might get the 3g model. But either way im pre-ordering one when amazon allows.

"PlayStation Vita" sounds uncomfortably like "PlayStation V.2" or "PSP2". Hmmm, I wonder...

I'm happy with the pricing on this thing. I'm way more likely to spend $250 on this than the 3DS. I'll still be waiting a while before buying, bit the price makes it way more tempting and the device itself seems to have a ton of potential.

I didn't hear any groan during the AT&T part I heard straight up laughing because it followed the words solid network, that could have been ugly if the whole audience fed into it. The prices are great and if I have the cash at launch I'll be getting one for sure.

250 Is pretty good if you ask me.
