I feel the adrenaline pain, man. The one time someone tried to break into my house, I did the stupidest thing I could probably do, grabbed a knife and opened the door shouting. Even though I'm well versed in martial arts, I realized it probably would have been safer to stay inside. I think my tenacity scared him off, though, most burglers don't expect a violent reaction.

Get yourself a copy of Jazz Jackrabbit. At least half the time I've ever spent at one of my friends house involved that game, so good.

My guess for the release date of this game is fall of 2009, what is yours?

Oh man, has it really been that long since Episode 2. Jeeez!

My guess is that Valve is going to release Half-Life 3 (or Episode 3) with a totally new engine in early 2014. The Source engine is now nearly a decade old, and even though Valve has done a fantastic job keeping it looking great I do think that it's finally time for something new. I can't see them bringing out an new engine that would be hindered by the boundaries of modern consoles. So it would make sense for them to wait until the next generation of consoles are on the market, and tweak the new engine to fit the latest hardware.

I imagine the engine won't be too different, more or less a "Source 2.0", with a significant amount of features to warrant the extra digits. The framework on that engine is incredibly fucking solid, looking at the past 10 or so years it's been used proves that. And as much as I dislike you're opinion that they're waiting for the new consoles, you're most likely right. They have to play to the console market to get the most out of their game, but the PC-snob in me just hopes they don't fuck it up like id did for Rage. :(

Since most of the time I'm listening to music I'm writing some as well, I just use my Alesis M1 Active's through my Focusrite Scarlett interface. Does the job for me, but I'm not too fussed about quality when I'm on the go, so I can deal with high-bitrate MP3's on my iPod through a good pair of in-ear headphones. I wouldn't call myself an audiophile per-se, especially considered to some of the crazy people in this thread, but I definitely have a better set-up than most people I know due to having a need to pay high attention to my mixes.

Huh... never had these. I'm in Melbourne, Aus... maybe I should start wearing my GB/WM shirts more often...

If you live on the Epping/Hurst bridge train line I've probably seen you before

That may have been me. I did see one guy on Platform 1 at Flinders Street wearing a Lincoln Force T, but I was distracted with my friends so I never had the opportunity to say hi to them.

P.S It's not gay until you touch shirts.

This is a question which always gives me a wildly different answer - depressing autobiographies, love flicks, certain perfumes, some games, etc. It's not something that necessarily makes you sad or cry, just something that hits a deep, emotional nerve within you. A lot of people who I talk to about this have their answers that stems from some fond childhood memory, or a time long past which it reminds them of.

In my case, this song called White Wine in the Sun by comedy artist Tim Minchin is what does it for me. This song comes from a man who spends most of his time on stage taking the piss out of religion and offending basically everyone, but then, in my case when I saw him live, finishes with this beautiful song. I was bawling my eyes out to the point where my girlfriend was asking if I was okay. I guess it's the deep love I have for my family mixed with the sincerity of such a song that comes out from a guy like this.

What is it for you? What's that one thing that, whenever you see or hear it, just stops you in your tracks?

They're messing with two completely different worlds, journalism versus the actual creation of videogames. If they're going to make a "Celebrity" list, at least split the two up. Even though it's based on popularity and not the works that the persons have done, featuring fucking Chobot on a list with Kojima and Miyamoto is just astounding.

Also, the lack of John Carmack irks me quite a bit.

I still think Portal takes the crown, purely because it captured the heart of an entire gaming sect, an amazing thing to do for a short, 3 hour pack-in game.
