" Yeah but Turltes in time has great music, who cares if you just get 5 minutes. But your forgetting the big part of this, this will be a great arcade summer, Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and battlefield 1943?  best Arcade Summer ever!  Period.  Exclamation point!  Done. "
One problem with MVC2.  It's still just a fighting game.  A crazy one, sure.  But at the core, it's the same old fighting game, played the same old way, and dominated by the same small group of people.  If you don't own an arcade stick or have a SRK account, or both, it's not for you.  I have neither.

I can actually say with confidence that none of those games appeal to me.

" I really really wanted to like this game. I played all the way through it and got to the last boss and just couldn't make myself care about it.  My main complaint is the characters.  Too many of them and all of them were pretty lame and under developed.  Chrono Cross was probably a better game than I remember it being but Chrono Trigger set the bar so high for me I was just expecting more of the same. "
Isn't it funny how so many developers seem to give us something different when we want more of the same, and something that's more of the same when we want something different?

" @Hailinel: I actually am not a huge fan of Chrono Trigger. The story is absolutely fantastic in Chrono Cross, I think you're probably insane. That said, this game shouldn't really be regarded as a sequel to Chrono Trigger at all. "
*SPOILERS ahoy for the ten people who have yet to beat this game and may play it one day*

Well it is regarded as a sequel, and with good reason.  Guile was supposed to be Magus.  This is painfully obvious to anyone who gets him in their party and played Trigger beforehand.  Kid is sort of a fragment of his sister, Schala.  Near the end of the game, a letter left by Lucca, (who was almost certainly supposed to be the female scientist who speaks in what looks like German since her resemblance to her is absolutely uncanny.  I can accept that she worked with Lucca, but being her twin sister as well and having no connection?  I call BS on that) directly addresses "Janus" (who she claims is likely watching over her at that moment) as though he were there when the letter was being read by Kid.  This was however gutted from the game, and we have these bizzare dopplegangers and this awkward letter.  That's just sloppy work by the devs.

Not to mention the final boss is, well... freaking Lavos. (with Schala imprisoned within him)

If they didn't want this game thought of as a sequel, they did a really terrible job of making it happen.  They should have embraced it as a sequel and more fully fleshed out all the connections to the first game.  It's just too hard to ignore all those connections to the first game and pretend Cross exists in a vacuum all by itself.

I did not like this one half as much as Trigger.  The much greater number of characters resulted in very few of them getting anything near meaningful character development, so I really did not give much of a piss what happened to any of them at any given point.  I was not a fan of the battle system, either.  Good game, just not as good a sequel to Chrono Trigger as it could have been.

SNK, to my knowledge, has no games on PSN at all right now.  They've announced no plans to change that.  If you want to play a SNK fighter on a PS3, you're going to have to wait for KOF12.

" Not going to argue about that point. The ps3 is the best BD player on the market and will be for a long time to come since its BD firmware can be updated through the internet. He said he will get a PS3 just for the BD player, so he has no interest in all the great exclusive games that system has to offer?. That kind of statement is something that a none gamer will say.

Edit: The ps3 is also one of the best DVD players out there, The upscaling capabilities are truly amazing.
"
Hey, different strokes for different folks.  He may feel fully satisfied with what he has as is, gaming wise.  Depends on his own personal tastes.

@Mordukai said: You really want to tell me that you are going to buy a PS3 just for the BD. I am not trying to sound offensive but it seem kinda of an idiotic statement.

PS3 is still one of the highest quality BD players on the market.  Pound for pound, especially with a price cut looming, it's still the best one of the best values in the BD player market.  High quality, and easily upgradeable.

I believe Fox actually had this for a very brief time when I was a teen.  It was my first exposure to anime, and made me seek out more, which I got via Sci-Fi channels Saturday Anime.  Which brought me to my second anime and first full length anime movie, Iria: Zeiram The Animation.  So I guess I owe Sailor Moon for being a gateway to something pretty awesome.

Might be.  I purchased three of them.  They were all complete garbage.
