I am devastated. Never felt like this for someone I have never met. We spent so much time with this guys every week it feels like a very good friend just passed away.
"hey everybody its tuesday" always made me smile even on the shittiest days.
RIP Ryan Davis and my condolences to friends and family.
"Hey guys Tim Schafer here thx for founding Massive Chalice. Oh btw the other game you gave 10 times the amount of money we asked for is still not done. And we have to do some very risky stuff or it will never come out. (could still happen )
But everybody will is fine with this because I am a funny guy and I made some funny games 15 years ago. "
This is the perfect example why we need Sony and MS. Imagine what the DRM would look like if we only had one option.
That said, from the begining MS should have just do digital only.
One of the reasons people accept Steam ( I know Steam sales are reason number 1) is that no on expects to be able to trade/sell/loan his digital game, song or movie. When you put physical media in people hands they expect that the disc will work no matter what.
I hope in a week when the dust settles we can finally go back talking about games and not about policies.
I liked what I saw, but I have to say I was more impressed with The Division. Although the Sci Fi setting might give them more opportunities for interesting loot and skills.
Am I the only one that thinks Blizzard had to go back to the drawing board for Titan because of this? I would assume both were pretty similar and Activision at one point said, leave the FPS MMO to the HALO guys.
All valid points you are making. MS has every right to go into that direction. The problem that MS has, they are not giving the consumer anything and they are taking almost everything away from him.
Imagine if MS came out and said no used games, but we will lower the prizes on everything (Steam). Or give us Xbox Live for free or give us every month free games (PS PLUS). Also you are 100 dollars over your main competitor. MS does not only want its cake it wants every cake.
P.S. I almost forgot the stupid camera, that no one asked for, that does what most TVs will do in 2 years, and no one really knows what data it assembles. And dont tell me about privacy settings, because we learned a couple of days ago how much they matter.
At least his review reads like an 8. The Polygon review was : " Great atmosphere ! Great stealth ! Great characters ! I did not like the gunplay much...7.5 I guess..."
