@bbalpert: The guy between Ryan and Jeff is Dave and the one being stared down by Luchadeer is Drew. At least that's how I see it.

Ahh, yeah that seems about right. I guess I assumed it wouldn't be Dave since there was already the Hardcore Dave poster hanging in the corner. On a related note, who is the guy striking that Han Solo-esque pose? I'm guessing Alexis, but it could also maybe be Tony from Comic Vine.

I'm sure I'll figure it out and feel really stupid immediately after posting this, but are there 2 Drews? The guy between Ryan and Jeff, and the guy getting stared down by Luchadeer.

As far as I can tell all the romance options are the same lines. Likely deliberate. Like if you are male Keith David acts all evasive and seems like he is making an excuse because he is not in to guys but it is exactly the same read if you are female.

No really worth over thinking a throw away joke about Mass Effect.

I figured the Keith David reaction was more a clever(ish) way of handling certain provisions in the "use of likeness" contracts, similar to the way that a lot of car manufacturers will let companies include their vehicles in racing games, but not allow modeled damage.

But you're right, I am over thinking this.

Mild, mild spoilers for the "romance" options, I suppose.

I'm playing as Lady Boss (Female 1 is the One True Boss), and when I use the "romance" option with Pierce, he says "Well, I don't normally swing that way, but what the hell!" I don't know if he says the same thing when you're playing as Dude Boss.

The way I see it, there are 3 ways to interpret that line.

  1. He's not normally interested in women, but he'll make an exception.
  2. He isn't normally into casual sex and/or banging friends.
  3. Volition wrote/recorded that line to be used as a reaction for when Dude Boss proposes getting it on, and didn't make an alternate version for Lady Boss.

Not that it makes any sort of difference with his character or the plot or anything, one way or the other, it just seemed like a curiously worded response.

@thoseposers: It seems like the new (well, new to the US, I think it came out a while ago in Japan/Europe) Picross game use some kind of "smart" system for graying out numbers. For instance, if you have row that's labelled "1 1 2", and you fill in the leftmost square (or the one next to it), it grays the first 1. If you fill in the 3rd square from the left, it doesn't gray anything, because that filled in square could be either of the two 1's.

Likewise, a 10 square row labelled "4 2" would gray out the 2 if you filled in

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ X X _

but it wouldn't gray out anything if you filled in

_ _ _ _ _ X X _ _ _

because those two filled squares could be the 2 or the tail end of the 4. It also wouldn't gray anything out if you filled in

_ _ _ _ X X _ _ _ _

because the filled in squares can't be from the 2 (as there would be not enough room for the 4).

It's threads like this that remind me you Americans have a far-reaching and fantastical world of fast food that I will never know.

Same here. Except for pizza. I would never trade the pizza culture in Sweden for the US. Theirs is not bad, just.. it lacks variety I've found in a way most fast food lack variety here. At least when I was over there like 10 years ago.

Is Swedish pizza actually good quality pizza or is it more that they'll just put whatever the fuck you want (or don't want) on a pizza, like Japan seems to do?

Perhaps not a divide similar to the extent that Mexican TV producers say "well we need to quickly establish this character as sophisticated and/or evil, so let's just find some actor from Madrid," but a difference in accent/terminology/spelling that would make Spanish Spanish and Mexican Spanish immediately identifiable?

Maybe this is ignorant, but I'm just curious whether Mexico and Spain make fun of each other's use of words like truck/lorrie, apartment/flat, cookie/biscuit, etc. The same goes for Canadian French and French French.

To me, pro wrestling occupies the same place in my mind as Eve Online. Both are cases where it seems like it's more fun to hear people talk about them, telling grand tales of intrigue and deception and alliances, than it is to experience them firsthand. Or rather, they may be fulfilling to experience if you're willing to devote a ton of time and effort, but their appeals aren't readily apparent to an outsider.

If that makes any sense.
