@pompouspizza: I'm on the ps4, playing on Hurt me Plenty. Decently challenging and definitely a good starting point. Looking forward to playing at higher difficulty levels though!
@machofantastico: I think I read somewhere that the multi player was outsourced to another studio?
Having played the beta and the single player now, I can tell you the difference in quality between the two is like night and day. Buy this game for the single player.
Let's just say that my current place of residence has zero respect for release dates
Obviously only the single player is available, and I've played about 2 hours so far.
It's really really fun. The game runs super smooth with nary a moment of stutter or lag. There are secrets to find, demons to shoot, and weapons to mod and upgrade.
I think they really nailed it. Definitely feels like a modern Doom game!
I thought that the glory kills would get real boring real fast, but man they are so satisfying to pull off. Really looking forward to 100% this game, and I think it will be in my permanent replay list.
Also, this game has by far the best Easter egg in any game ever. Go ID!
So i've finally gotten into BF4, with all the DLC, and it's chock full of BF2142 stuff.
Theres hovertanks
Railguns
A map based around a giant mech factory, complete with concept art on the walls of 2142's walkers.
turrets that shoot people out of pods like in 2142s titan mode, not to mention that carrier assault is just titan mode
So why the hell aren't we all expecting a battlefield 2143 out of dice? it seems to me like this is more than just fan service. The entire final stand DLC was devoted to battlefield 2142 stuff, this was also the last DLC put out for 4. As if they were hinting very strongly at something... how the ww1 rumors can gain traction and we can just ignore this is beyond me!
I certainly hope this is what they're doing, 2142 was great!
Apparently, all things are pointing towards that the new Battlefield will be set in WWI.
@gundogan: That's basically my main gripe, the demon is very powerful and there is no clear way to counter it. Overall though its a lot of fun, and I'm really looking forward to some good ol freeze tag
Been playing for a few hours. Have some thoughts. Put 'em in point form.
Likes:
The weapons feel great, for the most part. A nice mix of old and new.
The super shotgun.
THE TITLE MUSIC
Looks pretty nice, way more colour than the last one
The demon spawn pickup is a lot of fun
It's fast. This was a real fear of mine but the game is fast.
Dislikes:
The rocket launcher is total crap.
the demon spawn is too powerful and has way too much health.
The games can get real quiet. If there isn't any action happening there is no background music or any ambient sounds during the match
Why does the announcer call out when the demon is spawning but not when the power weapon (gauss cannon) or the pickups (quad damage, haste)? are spawning?
Why is there a "heavy assault rifle" and not a chaingun?
The double jump IS a double jump- but just barely.
Overall, I'm really really excited BUT, Doom for me has always been a more SP focused game. I'm hoping that iD makes a new Quake. I'm ready for a full fledged, nicely made Arena shooter.
@rongalaxy: I actually did care about the plot in Bloodborne quite a bit. Did a lot of extra curricular reading and I still feel like I don't totally know what's going on in that game.
@mordukai: that could actually be fun but if Bloodborne is any indication on length etc, that's would take me months of playing nothing but the souls game to really dig into. I'm really disappointed in the differences between souls and Bloodborne and I feel like Bloodborne is MECHANICALLY a better game. Maybe it's cause it's my first souls type game but it is what it is!
