Text is fine for news I think. Adding video in this case, would seem to offer nothing new and add nothing extra. You already talk about the weeks news on the Bombcast so I don't think there' s need for a news podcast either.
The way the news is featured on the site though probably could do with a rethink. Maybe a section with the latest headlines as at the moment, news can be engulfed by links to other things.
I can imagine it must be pretty horrendous for a reviewer to be forced to wade through the stinking mire that most comment'ers insist on leaving behind them. Having to then engage with them, as if their opinion was something other than the barking of lobotomised seals even more so. There is a chance however that at least some people will think more about what they choose to post, if there's a chance of a genuine reply from the reviewer. I suspect it won't work though and since I no longer frequent ign it's unlikely I'll hear about it. Good luck to them though.
On a side note, I've been told here that engaging in any way with someone that chooses to disagree with your opinion means that you were wrong. In itself this was an idea of such mind-numbing inanity that it defied argument.
Maybe the rumoured 3DS functionality for Black & White is streetpass?
I can't see the Play Coins doing anything. It's hard to see developers spending time generating content to give it away for free under that system. Most would probably rather spend the resources either on the game itself or maybe microtransactions?
@Ace829: Because Ninty don't do online. It actually makes no sense for them to green light any MMO based upon a property of theirs. Currently if you want pokemon you have to buy Nintendo hardware. If they allowed an MMO on any other platform, that simply wouldn't be true. You could get your fill elsewhere.
@MysteriousBob: Yes, unfortunately there's an almost complete lack of innovation in the series. If they addressed that, rather than trying to come up with new pokemon, then they would step away from exactly the kind of stagnation that series like Final Fantasy are suffering from.
