Now that big picture mode is out for Steam a lot more people will probably using their Xbox 360 controllers for their PC. So I thought I should share a cool little app I've been using for a while to actually turn off your controller instead of what you did before, letting it shut off on its own or removing the battery pack. It works by having you hold down the guide button for a few seconds, then asking if you want to turn off the controller. Since big picture mode turns on when you press the guide button in Steam, you might want to first close the steam window before pushing the guide button again, or else you'll re-entered big picture mode. An even more efficient way to turn off the controller is while in big picture mode have EXIT selected and hold the guide button to get the prompt to turn off the controller, then hitting A to confirm for both. Hope this helps.

NOTE: I didn't make this app and have no way of knowing if it's malicious or not (other than me using and scanning with an antivirus). I have personally used it for months and have not had any issues.

I got the Big Bo sacrifice ending and later saw the everyone lives ending. I actually prefer the Big Bo sacrifice ending a lot more, his death scene just seemed to work so well especially with what Dan says to him after he dies.

Just finished it tonight, totally exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth 10 bucks if anyone is on the fence for this deal.

I don't know why it's necessary to prove herself to the industry, she's an actress with an interest in games so sometimes she gets work that crosses over into that industry. She's also somewhat known throughout the community so she does have some celebrity appeal. She's not running for President of Gaming or something so what does it matter if her contributions to the industry/community doesn't justify the amount of gaming press she gets.

Yeah, I don't think they even sell them on their own (the official receivers). The problem that happened to me and others is hardware related, a fuse gets blown on it for some reason and the fix is either soldering over it to bypass it or using a piece of aluminum foil with electrical tape, which is what I did.

They do. That's how I bought mine. Looks like the newest ones that say "Xbox 360" are official also. Walmart and Amazon sell them and both are without the controller. The "X360" are knockoffs.

Seems like it may have been discontinued everywhere except Amazon. The listening on Amazon is for another store even though it's fulfilled by them. There's a chance though some of them may be knocks offs too.

@Imsorrymsjackson: The microsoft branded one?

@CrimsonNoir: Hmm I was under the impression that the receivers from microsoft didn't have to do any MacGuyvering as the off brand ones that is the number one problem I've been reading about. Although that is more in respect to drivers and its sounds like you are referring to a hardware thing. With that in mind I may just get a generic one.

@rebgav: This would have been my best bet I suppose but I really don't need another controller. I have more then four already.

Thanks guys, looks like best reviewed generic for me.

You can buy gray market receivers online for around 10 bucks although you have to install specific drivers to get it to work apparently. I use my controller on my pc all the time and when I was playing skyrim, but I have an official one but they have a design flaw which requires you to do a little MacGuyvering to fix. New controllers for windows probably don't have that issue.

I love my password... its just... so impossible to break. random 12 Letters and 4 random numbers with randomly allocated caps!

XKCD is great, but if you want to know how stuff works you should check out https://www.grc.com/haystack.htm and listen to the audio like halfway down the page. Then you'll think that maybe using four dictionary words isn't such a great idea.

But doesn't it still require a brute force approach to break or does a dictionary attack actually combine dictionary words together and in different order?

Found Leoric's Ring in Act 2 normal. It's my first play through and I'm only 30 hours in.
