It's weird, because when the old gang were together, it was the perfect mash up of every personality type. Much more so with the original 4, but even GBeast and early West crew (with Vinny and Dan still there) gelled really well. Everyone had their own chaotic levels of energy that clashed well with the others in the room.

Now you have Jeff G doing his own thing, with no one to bounce off of. (Jeff works really well with someone to hit him back. Ryan in the beginning, and then Vinny.) Nextlander is extremely safe, almost to a boring level, where they won't talk about or say anything that might have the slightest bit of edge to it. Fire Escape Cast where they talk about literally nothing for an hour, sometimes it's really good, sometimes it's really bad.

And then Giant Bomb, the weirdest of them all. I like the addition of Grubb, Tam and Lucy. But there just isn't enough content here. I agree with someone else here who said they should just hit the reset button and start anew. They tried doing that with the weird new face of GB video (Ghost Dan) but then fell back into the routine just as quickly. I do like the Dump Truck though.

This is fun! I'd never played or seen much of this game before, but glad I got it!

Giantbomb was never the same after you left. One cannot help but think what if. RIP, duder.

TV-Shows that come to mind:

Justified - The first season is more of a "case of the week." Season 2 and beyond really get going with interesting characters and plots.

Better Call Saul - I feel like this show doesn't hit its prime until Chuck dies. which happens well past seasons 1-2

Project Gotham Racing 4. Such a good game, stuck on a dead console with no great way to play it.

Damn. Three hours a day. That's the dream, buddy. I currently get about 3 hours or so a week, and I spend that time playing Fortnite with my little brother who lives in a different country, so I actually play no games at the moment :')

I voted for Witcher 3 before reading the post, but came here to say Red Dead Redemption 2 is a great game for your purposes. That game has a kind of momentum that never lets up, so the fact that you can play every day will likely make it a better experience for you than if you were playing on-and-off throughout the weeks. Also the snowy beginning of the game makes a pretty good Christmas game, too.

Okay, I have some spicy ones.

I got GTA 5 a week before release. I was in Iran at the time, and the store I got it from had gotten it early, and were checking/counting the copies from a box at around 10PM, right before closing. I happened to be passing by their store at that exact moment and saw them taking out Xbox 360 GTA 5 copies from a box. They had forgotten to lock the door, so I just barged in and asked if they would sell me a copy. The guy looked at me, and said, eh, what the hell, money is money, and handed me a copy. I went home and I finished the game by the day it was supposed to come out. That's the reason why I was able to write a review of it so early.

I got Red Dead Redemption in the same manner, but it was only two days before its release date. This was in Dubai, and the game was banned here for excessive violence/sex/Rockstar reasons. However, there were these IT stores in the bazaar that literally had anything you could ask for. He would reach under his table and get it for you. I thought I'd try my luck, and wouldn't you know it, he had three copies of Red Dead Redemption for the Xbox 360 two days before its release.

And the last one, I didn't end up buying at the time, but it was actually something that Brad mentioned in a Bombcast at one point. Some kiosk in the Mall of Emirates in Dubai was selling Saints Row the Third about 10 days or so before it was supposed to be released. They weren't making a big deal out of it, either. They just had one sitting in the shelf. I think they had somehow missed the release date or just didn't care enough to adhere to it.

1. Undertale is massively overrated, and feels like the work of a 17 year old nerd teenager.
2. Half Life 2 is a boring, bloated piece of crap, and it ruined shooters and then the influence of COD took over. So:
3. Call of Duty campaigns suck. All of them. I hate the "FOLLOW" and shoot these enemies that conveniently pop up in front of you trend this franchise started, and it spread to every other shooter. It's mindless, it's automative, and it's boring. You know what FPS had a good campaign? Battlefield Bad Company. Bad Company 2's wasn't terrible either, but much less great because it tried to do the COD thing.
4. Please put quest markers in Divinity, and then I can enjoy them. I don't have the time these games require you to invest to be able to remember where to go and what to do. I may be able to play once or twice a week, and everytime I forget what I was doing; so games that don't tell you where to go infuriate me. It's a shame because I love everything else about that game.
5. Vampire Survivor is like that "I MADE A GAME WITH ZOMB!EZ IN IT!!" crap from the Xbox 360 days.

I think going forward, we are going to start seeing a lot more 'locked 30fps' games on consoles. It's just the nature of the beast.
