Recently, Nioh 2. I was so hyped for Nioh 2, hoping that they had improved the level design and enemy variety from the first game. Played it for about 10 hours, and was so disappointed to see repeating (and uninspired) levels with the same 10 or so enemies over, and over. I went from being overly excited to play it to being sorely, sorely disappointed.
And a while ago, Sekiro. Again, was super excited to play it. However, after 5 or 6 hours in, realizing that the game wants me to play a certain way that I am not comfortable playing, and does not have the same freedom of gameplay that Souls games do, I made the choice to just let it go, and stopped playing it.
This was a time when my brain couldn't handle not finishing games I've started to play. I was bored of this game in the second mission. And damn, that was a long game, too. Thank god I've overcome my ridiculous tendencies, and can just leave games that are boring/bad unfinished and move on.
OP clearly never played, I dunno, Contra? The idea that games prior to the 360 weren't too hard for teenagers, let alone pre-teens and younger, is hilarious.
If I were a gambling man, I might also wager that the youngest person who regularly looks at these forums and has any interest in ever clicking "submit" on a drafted post here is at the very least turning 30 years old this year, lol.
I am 27, so I guess I am disqualified here. :'(
But also, I was 5 years old when I gave tips to strippers in Duke Nukem 3D, and kicked cop-pigs in the face. My parents did not think video games were so interactive back then. Thank you, Duke, for pioneering.
@tartyron: They've done it since 2008, the very first year of GB! I remember the ending to 2008's podcast was rough to listen to, as Brad's mic had cut out and you could just hear Jeff arguing with a distant voice.
@ohverture: Brutal Legend was an okay slasher until it became a great RTS. I am joking. However, taking third person control of every unit, every one of which had a unique trait is a great idea that literally no one has done before, or since Brutal Legend. Man, I am still not over my feelings for Brutal Legend I guess.
Anyway, I was really, really into Wasteland 2 until you got to that camp midway through the game, and no one would allow you in unless you did some really extraneous tasks. I didn't feel like going through the hoop, so I stopped playing the game.
Also, every stupid dungeon in Skyrim. The open world of that game is amazing, but man the dungeons suck.
I don't have a lot of time to play games anymore, but the ones I do play, I am very picky on. So with that in mind, I don't usually play something I am not super excited for. I was hopeful about Mutant: Year Zero after seeing the quick look, but man, did I LOVE that game.
