XBL.

The service itself or the fact that you have to pay to play online?

The latter.

The service and overall value are reasonable to me (for some other sucker to pay). I just want to use the product I purchased as intended. They can keep all their other bells and whistles like Facebook and Netflix behind the golden paywall. But I say let the publishers run their own accursed servers and let me play my damn games.

@EquitasInvictus: Entitled? Fucking hell.

People may have bought this fully unaware of Telltale's usual release shenanigans and were expecting a monthly release cycle. It was advertised that these would be monthly. For those people, they've paid for goods that aren't being delivered.

How, exactly, is that being entitled? When I buy something with an expected delivery date, I kind of expect it to arrive. Delays happen, and Telltale haven't done a good job of getting the word out that this is happening.

That's just it. Gamers, but especially the enthusiast press has twisted the word entitled to being an insult. It's not. Sometimes people simply are in fact entitled to what they pay for. A "false sense of entitlement" and actual entitlement are separate things that have now been blurred.

So I just wish we'd stop using the word altogether for a while :/

@Ghostin: Gaming and internet grew up beside each other. We can't separate them now. Asking for that ain't much different from asking for a for all the junk Harada's pointing out as unreasonable to his fans.

I don't think Harada's thinking it will stop unreasonable or childish comments outright. He's just trying to explain how it works to people who are clearly ignorant of it. It's all he can do.

That said, I don't entirely disagree. He might have done a greater service to Tekken and its fans by releasing this information in a more professional (or maybe even entertaining) way. But hey. Sometimes people snap to hasty reactions... which is kind of the whole issue.

Meh. There's no right or wrong here. But I'm glad to hear a dev break it down like this now and again. And I'm definitely glad my hobby/medium-of-choice is one where I can easily interact with the people who create it. Sure, when us gamers piss and moan we are a very unpleasant bunch, and some devs can be over-reactionary, but I'm fairly certain gaming is (mostly) better for all that interaction.

Yeah. But I enjoy it that way. The only thing that actually bothers me (about their unpreparedness) is when they pass harsh judgement on things without due diligence. It happens too often, especially with Shoemaker. I'd say Lego Batman was a minor example of that. But then sometimes Vinny can also go the complete opposite direction and apologize for clearly bad design choices. But overall, I enjoy the off-the-cuffness and wouldn't want to see that change.

As an aside: Quicklook EX's are neutered Quicklooks. Just sayin'... they sadden me :(

I just wanted to say that I think it's sad that we're still using Tomb Raider to gauge how progressive we are as gamers in 2012? This conversation is probably worth having, just not at all with Lara Croft as a focal point.

The press seems to be looking for fights to pick, or maybe, just maybe it was a PR move to get this kind of attention as it's worked for Lara in the past (though, I'd still lay responsibility on the press for falling for it, making this a hot topic). But, again, not worth considering in the greater context of equality. This is only one interpretation of what a female can be in a video game. I don't think the adult women or men who will choose to play this need protection from its opinions.
