Can I ask you a serious question? What happened in your life to make you have this fucked up of a world view?

What do you think my world view is, and what is fucked up about it?

That you have to invent cases of sexism to be upset about

its not that hard to see how this could be construed as sexist, actually

Yeah totally it has nothing to do with 5 years of brand recognition, multiple trailers, and the face of the franchise. They recognized that their fanbase wants more female representation and gives it to them on both editions of the game as well as a whole trailer and you still cry foul? You're looking for something to be mad about.

I bet you're pissed that the Collectors Edition has the FemShep on the flipside of the case as well?

@benson: I'm a minority but you don't see me complaning about Shepard not being a latino (I can make him look like one if I want anyways) ... there's a time and place for everything but some of you guys have serious issues and somehow are avoiding them , I don't think this is even about a videogame boxart anymore, yes you guys are arguing about a videogame boxart that has 2 sides on it ....

So can you give us some guidelines on what's the time and place where it's convenient for everyone to discuss misogyny?

It's also pretty precious that you accuse us of having serious issues that we avoid when most people in this thread get really uncomfortable, sometimes to the point of violence, when issues that they don't like to think about are brought up.

I'll ask the same of you the same I asked of Aninmasta. Put your brain where you mouth is. Present policy prescription: give us a box art that represents all gender, race, and creed, without running away form the entire issue and not showing Shepard period.

I don't necessarily want everyone represented, my issue initially is that they litteraly put the woman in the back, in second place. If it was just a non-reversable cover with withedudeshep, at least the excuse that it's the cannon representation of Shepard would stick. By doing this instead, they show what women are in Bioware games (and the vast majority of games, really): an afterthought.

To answer your challenge anyway, I think one simple way that they could use to represent that Shepard can be any type of person would be to have a split cover: on the left, a badass looking Shep slaughtering aliens, on the other side, a different looking Shep doing something nicer. With the armor and the addition of the same companions in the background, you would still be able to tell that it's Shep in both cases. It wouldn't be the most elegant box art, but it would be less boring that the classic "guy in the center is looking at you with a super serious look on his face".

Can I ask you a serious question? What happened in your life to make you have this fucked up of a world view?

Casey Hudson just tweeted:

It takes about 3 months from "content complete" to bug-fix, certify, manufacture, and ship game discs. In that time we work on DLC.

DLC has fast cert and no mfg., so if a team works very hard, they can get a DLC done in time to enjoy it with your 1st playthrough on day 1.

On ME3, content creators completed the game in January & moved onto the "From Ashes" DLC, free w/ the CE or you can buy seperately.

Apparently some voiceovers from the DLC companion got out on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eK99_T61alc Now who does that voice remind me of?

Somebody from Africa?

Oh I'm sorry you thought I was gonna say Jar Jar Binks because I can't recognize accents like you apparently? Sad bro sad.

I'm getting the collectors edition so it probably doesn't matter to me but I doubt that he is truly story critical because none of BioWare's day one DLCs have ever been story critical. Zaead made absolutely no impact in ME2 and he was the founder of one of the enemy factions fought in the early game.

The Prothean character might go like this:

Prothean: You found me?

Shepard: A Prothean?

Prothean: I need you to go to Illos.

Shepard: Ok.

They go to Illos and do a mission.

Prothean: Thank you for going to Illos.

Prothean character never acknowledged again just like Zaead and Kasumi (although Kasumi's DLC was fun and Kasumi was cool).

That could happen but I really badly want the Turian Councilor to do his patented " Ah yes a "Prothean" " finger quotes so I can punch him in his stupid face

Garrus and Thane. Thane would have to go, he wouldn't ask me to make the choice though he'd sacrifice himself

This totally worked and Power is a great theme song for Shepard:

No one man should have all that power? Self explanatory

Screams from the haters got a nice ring to it, I guess every super hero needs his theme music? People not believing him.

The schools closed, the prisons open, we ain't got nothing to lose motherfucker we rollin. Recruiting everyone and going on the suicide mission

With these responsibilities they entrust in me, as I look down at my diamond encrusted piece. All the responsibility + All the high tech gear he gets, or even the Asari armor the Normandy's got with the diamonds in it.

Where the bad bitches, where you hiding? Recruiting the badass females from ME2 and finding them again in 3

The "You Don't Sleep" refrain. Shep can't sleep he's got Earth to save
