The game looks kinda cool. I dont think I would by it for myself, but I think my brother would love this game. If I can find it cheap I might have to pick up the Wii version or something, maybe the 360 and you never know when he aint playing it I reckon I might have a bit of entertainment myself for a while.
Not the biggest Sonic fan out there, but the game actually looks like a lot of fun for people who actually enjoy the Sonic franchise. I'm still baffled by the 3.5 it got on GS.
It's great that you are able to look past the games faults but even the hardcore Sonic fans I've talked to personally say it was a disappointment. It might not be as bad as reviews make it out to be, but I think people are fed up with SEGA screwing up the franchise with every installment.
I tried the demo and found it incomplete since there was no werehog level to try which is pretty misleading. I found the Sonic level in the demo to be a tad annoying because I really don't like it when the controls are taken from you plus it just wasn't all that fun for me even when I was in control of it. It just felt like a bunch of fluff gameplay that isn't deep and wouldn't be interesting for long. Don't get me wrong, I'm not attacking you for liking the game or really the game itself. I realize it isn't for me, but if you enjoy it, then that is fantastic. It does tend to look fun, I'll give it that.
You are right that a lot of reviews are too negative towards this game and I think it is clearly a case that the series has been floundering for so long that it has become a laughing stock to a lot of the critics. So much so that I'm sure many went in fully assuming it would suck and so they got what they were looking for. My guess is that this game is probably much more akin to a 6 out of 10 rather than either extreme end of the scale. If you like it then you might score it a little higher and vice versa if you didn't.

Hey man, I think Usagi is absolutely right about this issue. I cant say anything about the demo because I did not play it at all. I am agreeing with his views on the series. Most reviewers have been negatively reviewing Sonic games for the past couple years, therefore went into this one thinking it would be horrible. That opinion is biased however and should be abandoned...games deserve to be reviewed at face value, not on reputation or expectation.
I like the game so I do of what I've played of it thus far and its totally not as bad as what people claim it to be. There were several games I played last year that felt worse to me. The snow level you showed looks pretty cool.
The Werehog levels have God of War, Prince of Persia and even a little bit of Metal Gear Solid in them.
God of War levels by pressing circle and stuff. Prince of Persia with the pole swinging and jumping. Metal Gear Solid because an exclamation mark came over the enemies head when he saw Sonic.

I have to agree. The answer btw is very bad. Just like every other Sega Sonic game in the last I don't know how many years. I also love how you constantly say "How can this game get low ratings? its awesome!" "yeah this is a 3.5 guys, a 3.5, bullshit, this game is sweet!". You aren't the first person to disagree with reviews, but when it gets what it deserves everywhere, and nearly everyone that plays the game or the demo alone finds it terrible, no, there isn't something wrong with people or "the reviewers." Maybe you(judging by that avatar) just suck up every Sonic game that ever comes out regardless of its actual quality. The day you get qualified at a respective review site, would be the only thing to increase your input that "reviewers are unfairly scoring the game", and even then it would be dumb. No one is saying its not possible for you(or a few other people) to not like this game, or any other sonic garbage that Sega puts out anytime soon, but the rest of us, and the reviewers, just don't. So I suggest just accepting the fact that your opinion of the game is different than others, instead of whining about it, and get over it.

I hate it when people underestimate games and give them low numbers, just like merc 2. anyway, I am not a big fan of Sonic but I think I had better play this game to see how good or bad it really is.
It's not a bad game. You're taking way too much value in the opinions of Jeff and his cohorts. The game is actually pretty awesome when you're playing as straight up Sonic.

Yeah, the visuals in that fast part were nice but other than that it looks dumb. It looks like you have no control over Sonic. It seems like a game that plays itself on the fast parts. The werehog stuff looks like a shitty beat em up.
You can do what I did. I bought the PS3 version, then download someones save file off the internet, then loaded up that save so I could just play all of the incredibly fun day time levels, and ignore the hell out of the werehog stuff. I'm the man.
