I caved and joined the Illuminati. Makes it more fun as you can make bigger bets and not have to spend as much time in the 'Mines'. Looks like Jeff also invested.
When UGO acquired Ziff Davis back in 2009 and they stopped making Broken Pixels episodes on 1up. I started searching around for 'MST3K'-esque gameplay videos and somehow stumbled onto GiantBomb (probably from Reddit). Made an account in 2011 (having lurked for a year or 2) and have been here ever since.
@philantrophy: Helios seems to make it so that enemies drop 2-4x the number of gold when killed. There is also another one called Hedgehog's Curse (I think) as a reference to Sonic the Hedgehog. This makes it so that every time you are hit, your gold flies out from you and you have to collect it up again.
Finished the PC version with M+K, thought it was great. Just started playing the Vita version and it's equally as fun! Don't need the extra 2 triggers from the PS3 version, and I'm reacting a lot faster to goons than before. I feel the controls let me play a bit more instinctively and complete levels faster without having to plan and wait as much.
Definitely surreal that I get to have this fantastic game in my pocket at all times, but I love it!
