"This is sickening, you sound like chapters from a self-help booklet!" - Kefka, Final Fantasy VI

"Well you found me. Congratulations. Was it worth it? Because, despite your violent behavior, the only thing you've managed to break so far is my heart." - Glados, Portal

"You cannot grasp the true form of Giygas' attack!" - Battle text, Earthbound

"OBJECTION! I object! That was... objectionable! - Miles Egdeworth - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

HP/MP restored! But you're still hungry... - Chrono Trigger, Future-health-restoring-machine-that-I-can't-remember-the-name-of

Also +1 on the Andrew Ryan speech from Bioshock.

Priority: low

Info: OS: Debian Squeeze (Linux x86_84) Browser: Firefox 17.0.1 (actually Iceweasel but it's an identical clone under a different license) Page: all

Details: whenever I paste text into the editor, the cursor moves to the bottom of the screen (if you're wondering, I write wiki page stuff in openoffice first because my internet connection can be intermittent). This isn't really an issue on someplace like the forum but when I'm editing an article with a lot of text like Civ V: Gods & Kings it can get really irritating. It's certainly not a high-priority issue, but if I've missed a configuration option somewhere I'd really like to know about it.

Thanks in advance!

Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gods & Kings --> Civ V: Gods & Kings, Civilization V: Gods & Kings, Civ 5: Gods & Kings, Civilization 5: Gods & Kings (Based off the original's aliases).

If you have a DS and don't mind Japanese stuff the Ace Attorney series is very good. I heard somewhere that they were planning to make HD remakes for the Ipad but that could be bullshit.

Why is Mac separate from PC? Your arguments are all completely rational, but why should PC not include Macs as well? It would have made sense back when Macs used Motorola chips (making them different at a hardware level) but now the only real difference between the products from a hardware perspective is the case. And based on software, Mac and Linux are a lot closer than Linux and PC.

Hello there forum.

I'm not sure I follow what you're trying to say?

I agree that the ultimate quality of a port is the responsibility of the developer, but I think that developers are getting tired of being restrained by the hardware limitations of the consoles, and are starting to build games that skirt the edges of those limitations out of creative boredom. It's unfair to compare a game designed from the ground up to run on a specific set of hardware to one designed to work on something else. It's my belief, and I don't think I'm alone in thinking this, that multiplatform game devs have started designing games with the PC version in mind first. I don't necessarily think that's a good thing, personally I'd prefer game devs work with the weakest platform the game is being made for in mind, but I at least understand the motivation behind it.

I own both a 360 and a somewhat dated gaming PC (It's actually mostly a Debian box with one windows drive in it). There really needs to be new console releases next year, because multi-platform games are universally performing better on PC. I'm not really into FPS's, but I will say that I get motion sickness much more easily when the frame-rate is low and/or fluctuating.

I've seen Far Cry on console, and, while I'd agree it is functional, from the perspective of a multi-platform player, that's not the version I'd buy by a long shot.

EDIT:Spelling correction

My issues with it are how monochrome it is, the aforementioned and the constant pop-up explanations that can't be disabled globally. There's a surprising lack of customization overall, and with how they're pushing featured content it feels like a cash in. Hopefully they'll add more options soon.
