I don't know, I'm pretty torn on it and probably have to sleep on it, but it seems so minor after all of the other bullets that were dodged.

And plus is pretty good, online or not. But online should be a standard feature. Depends how they are going about it I guess. What do they add to plus if they want everyone in, is holding online ransom the only card or is there more? What about the gaikai stuff? Do they add value or do they add perception of value?

I mean it also doesn't compare to gold in that gold without online is what? Paying to be able to pay for netflix? Plus without online is already service a ton of people like.

Still, torn about the decision.

Now that both conferences are out of the way, I think Deep Down from back in Feb still impressed me the most. Barring it being dishonest in some way.

@ryuku_ryosake: It was 14 and it's unscheduled rebuild that held up square so much. Now that the MMOs are out of the door things should pick up a bit.

I'm disappointed that it isn't a PS3 game as well. Since that is what was anticipated for so long. But after tonight I can feel okay about getting a PS4 anyway, so it's not so bad.

I trust the KH dudes to make a solid action rpg that feels like a Jrpg, until I see different. As for how it plays, I think I see more scripting than I'd like, but it's also a demo made to make the game look as cool as they can. Also, if this is a 40+ hour game as we likely expect it to be, it logically would have to be much more than action set pieces.

Time to replay 1 and 2, because during that teaser I was wearing a smile as wide as my face.

I know there is a space between minimal exposition and hour long cutscenes, but I really appreciate a game that lets you take its story at your own pace.

I was thinking about nostalgia bait games and stylized indie games and how they often don't really feel totally like the games they are trying to evoke. I realized that when I play Dark Souls I often think about the first Zelda game. Moreso than any Zelda clone anyway. I think the minimal story is a big part of that. Letting your mind do a little more work than you're used to. Letting the world retain as much mystery as possible. I think I took this type of story for granted and I wouldn't want to lose it. I mean, we already have plenty of the alternative.

Children with guns has been the part of MGS story telling for a long time. Raidens whole backstory is being a child soldier in Africa.

The bad guy of MG1 and 2 (not MGS, Metal Gear) is Big Boss, the guy you are playing as in MGS5. He is someone who manipulates child soldiers. So prepare to get uncomfortable, maybe.

Cynic for next gen? Not yet. Ask me tomorrow.
