You're gonna get a lot of people here telling you that you're hypothesis is misinformed; that Coke doesn't NEED to advertise because everyone knows who they are. They're right of course, but you've struck on a truth here. Large companies spend millions and millions of dollars on advertising that is largely ineffective. They literally throw money away every year on print campaigns, mailers, billboards, TV advertisements, etc. that no one responds to. When's the last time an ad made you want to buy something? Sure it puts the brand in your head, but most of the time it stops there. Traditional marketing like this is a dead end, and has been for years now, but the larger companies don't have the litheness required to make a dramatic and risky change-up of their tactics. So yeah, all those billboards you see are pointless, just maybe not for the reasons you think.
" For make benefit glorious nation of Kazakhstan, I presume? "
Not at all, friend. I just need your money so I can use a transport to your location so we can meet and figure out a righteous plan to get into the bank account of a rich corporate son that died in a plane crash. "
Sounds like you've got it all planned out and everything. Where do I send the check?
" I remember the first Penny Arcade game was buggy as fuck. I got to this bit with the barbershop quartet, system blue screens and then when I got back in the bosses were gone - I could not fight them nor progress the game. Official solution from the hothead forums was to edit the save game to bypass on to the next checkpoint. I never did get to fight that boss. "
That's a bummer, it was a pretty hilarious boss
Also, did you guys see that the game locked up in the quick-look? Hahaha, VINDICATION!
A resounding yes! The graphics and sound show their age, as anything 13 years old would, but the gameplay is still a shining example of great design. Except the last few levels...
