I watched Beast Wars as a kid so I'm going to say that's where "beast mode" is from.

Bayonetta was my GOTY the year it came out (2010 I think). The combat was a fresh take on the DMC formula and I played the hell out of it. I originally used gamefly to rent it, but after playing it for an hour I bought it outright and gamefly sent the cover and everything. I went on to 1000/1000 the game and I didn't do that for DMC4.

@Quarters

To all the talk about who's being the bigger bully...I have no issue with people not liking the game, just be objective about it. Gametrailers had a thing the other day, some podcast called The Depths that was devoted to DmC and the reaction around it. One of the dudes on there was a big fan of the old games, played DmC all the way through, and decided that it just wasn't something he preferred personally. Now, he admitted that the game was objectively well made, but it just didn't jibe with him. That's totally cool. He gave the game a shot, calmly and clearly made his points why he didn't like it, and accepted that it wasn't the only way to look at it. If more people were like that, I wouldn't have an issue with it. It's just that a certain segment of the reaction has been extremely immature. And yes, I agree a fraction of both sides have been guilty of it, I probably have been too. Mainly, in my case, I just hate the thought of Ninja Theory getting brought down because of this.

Regardless, the main problem is that people have a hard time separating taste and actual quality of the product. For example: The Walking Dead. I loved that game. It had a very well written story. However, it was also an extremely poor game from a technical standpoint, complete with a plethora of visual/audio hiccups, crippling bugs that prevented some from even finishing it, and the gameplay was basic and stiff as a board. Does that mean I have to hate it? No. I still really enjoyed my time with it.

On that same token, you can completely dislike a game that's competently made. I don't like Bioshock in any way, shape, or form. Does that mean it's a steaming pile? No, it just means I don't like it because it doesn't appeal to me.

The issue is that once a person doesn't like the game on the Internet, it's because it's a horrible game, and if you think different, then you're wrong. And it works the other way around too. People just need to take the hyperbole down a notch.

I saw that video on gametrailers and to my knowledge it is the only piece of content that has a person that played through the whole series and can speak about the differences and the issues with the reboot. I was going to make a thread about that video, but I considered how it wouldn't make a difference one way or another and decided against that. People have already convinced themselves that anyone who speaks about the issues with DmC is secretly upset about the hair. Aside from that video I have not seen anyone on any other website judge DmC to the metric that fans of the series are using. Most outlets are looking at that game completely devoid of its roots and so they don't see anything wrong with it.

This "accessibility" that has started to creep into titles is what has me pretty worried about Dark Souls 2. If the worse actually happens with Dark Souls 2 you can expect everyone to shit on Souls fans as entitled whiners just like they did with Mass Effect 3 and DmC.

The problem with Lost is that the ending makes everything that happened not matter, same with Battlestar Galactica. I hate that so many people are happy with just the journey. I wish TV shows knew how to end themselves... Like Fringe this week which had the perfect end to a great show.

How does the ending to Lost make everything that happened not matter? Is it the same way that the ME3 ending made everything else in the game not matter? The Walking Dead might be a similar argument.

Watching that 1 hour speed run, I don't get some stuff, like how is he doing so much damage, he 5 shots queelag, killed the gargs ridiculously fast too, what's going on? Also, what did he get when he climbs the tower in valley of the drakes, I've never done that.

If I remember that video he's using the ring that really buffs your damage when your HP is low (i believe that's in the tower at the valley of the drakes) and he might be enchanting his weapons with Gold Pine Resin. Dual wielding a weapon also dramatically increases your damage.

My character fights as a SL 48 DexPyro with the uchigatana so you could probably fight the Four Kings first and give the lord vessel there instead of talking to Frampt (lizard dude at firelink). You can then become a darkwraith and invade as much as you like with no penalty. PVP is essentially a whole separate game from the single player mode. It would be great practice for Dark Souls 2 since it sounds like you'll be getting that.

jesus, killing Ornstein last seems alot harder :/ in fact, I have no interest in the ring or the weapon you make from his soul, so might just do him first like I did with my first character, fuck it.

It's simple if you summon a buddy. Each person takes a boss to a separate corner and then one person kills one while the other keeps their boss busy by dodging. The only attack you need to watch our for when fighting Super Ornstein is his electric butt stomp.

I played it back when the humble indie bundle and thought it was pretty interesting since I had no idea what the game was about. The first boss fight with the Trigon is visually striking and the music really enhances the whole scene with the way it builds up as the fight goes on. I wouldn't say the writing is amazing, but I didn't have an issue with it.

I think I am in the best position to speak with you because I recently completed the whole game a few weeks ago. You are definitely missing a piece of the appeal because you did not get the game when everyone else did and as such you were not part of the conversation that comes from trying to get all the cubes.

I probably spent more time thinking about the puzzles outside of the game than actually playing the game when I found myself wandering the world of Fez hoping to see something that would spark the idea to solve X puzzle in Y location. I dropped the game for months and eventually picked it up again when I made a thread here to at least confirm or deny if I had enough information about the world to solve the last puzzles. A few nudges here and there allowed me to solve the rest of the game.

You wont know what you are missing until you have enough cubes to beat the game the first time. It's technically impossible to have the information required to get everything before you beat the game once. After you do that you can see for yourself if you are truly missing something.

Fez was in the #10 spot for my GOTY 2012 list, but it probably would have been higher if I could have contributed to the conversation about the last puzzles.

I believe my thread is an accurate representation of the detective work and red herrings that you'll later have to do in Fez, but you can't look at that thread until you beat the game once.

I live in Riverside California so I'm looking for jobs in and around the Inland Empire and if I'm desperate enough Los Angeles County.
