I doubt giantbomb is the place you would want decent coverage of this genre, they all seem pretty dismissive of it, despite it being a new hugely popular thing, born on PC. That doesn't happen often anymore. The Stranded Deep Unfinished, was pretty worthless content.
Obviously when I say 'new' take it with a grain of salt, because it's a genre born with early access. Meaning none of them are done and theres 100 crappy clones for every decent one.
BTW guys if you 'Verify integrity of game cache' you may get 4000~ files in error, which is basically the whole game. I'm redownloading the thing now, it only takes me a hour or so, so do it at your own risk.
Whether this will fix anything, I don't know. The game seems to run really smooth (R9 280) until it has to stream in new data, then it will hitch and then be smooth again. So it seems to be data streaming that is screwed, for me at least. Either way, it's poorly optimized.
Make sure you get the beta driver if your on AMD. I'm on an R9 280 3gb, it made the game playable.
The game is also LOCKED AT 30 FPS, you need to manually unlock it in the config. My game runs at about 45-50 now, which is still worse than my Witcher 3 performance. It definately seems poorly optimized, regardless.
Turns out you can play different characters in, what I assume, will be a vast chunk of the open world/side stuff. That instantly removes a tonne of potential dialogue. I honestly think the voice switch is just pointless and will just lessen the experience for MGS fans, considering this is the last game Kojima will even be able to work on.
