I don't know why, but I find it kind of disturbing that dismemberment is a key factor to enjoying a game for some people.

I'd have to agree with you. Seems like a weird thing to complain about to me personally. If it didn't work on my computer I honestly wouldn't care as it doesn't hamper my experience of the game.

In most games I wouldn't care, but I think it rubs against the art style and exaggerated nature of this one. Not a key factor but appropriate for the tone. Either way it's apparently just a bug so everyone wins.

Hmm mine are up to date, 306.23, although the update said the same or newer version of PhysX was already installed. Good to know it's possible for them both to work though.

Kinda unfortunate but I'll try it on Low tonight.

It's amusing that the tech feature they've touted in an official trailer (or at least Nvidia has?) is hampering the experience some. As I just mentioned in the other dismemberment related thread, I've been running this at max settings and wondering why the corpses are so jarringly-pristine.

To be honest the PhysX fluids look kinda terrible in this, but I like the particles and debris. Guess I'll try PhysX on Low tonight and hope they patch this soon.

This is my first Borderlands experience and I'm yet to see any dismemberment, despite torrents of blood and particles. Not the end of the world but the contrast is honestly quite distracting. Playing maxed on PC with Nvidia cards, looks like maybe PhysX is interfering somehow?

For those saying it doesn't impact gameplay; you're absolutely right, but it definitely does against the tone of the game. It's an exaggerated universe, and if I'm told the new gun I picked up is ridiculously powerful, I want that to be conveyed viscerally. Seeing a clean, intact body left after showers of blood just looks odd.

I never bothered playing Left 4 Dead 2 in Australia for a similar reason - the censored version actively sabotaged the tone and atmosphere of that setting, and it was an inferior experience as a result.

For the first time in my life I have an actual good gaming PC, and it's been enlightening. Even more so when it was out of action recently and I dusted off the 360. Maybe I've just shifted to dreaded elitism without even realising it, but things like anti-aliasing, solid 60+ frame rates and even all the anisotropic filtering-type wankery make a world of difference. It's not needed, granted, but it has made certain games that much more immersive to me. I'd also like to think a new generation of consoles might help push the boundaries of map sizes, crowd numbers, AI routines and all that.

If this sticks then Rebellion should also be sued by Walter Hill for using the "Warriors" font for their company logo without permission.

Truth, and a great burn to boot.

Can't help feeling a little attached to the audio, wouldn't find if the image was updated though. Either way, I trust you guys to shepherd design on the right path.

Dig this, good execution and music. What's HTML5 like working with for interactive audio etc? Am I right in saying it's capable of audio filters, reverb and such?

Everyone's already said it, but this guy is positively awful. How can someone employed in the games industry so fundamentally miss the point?
